About Mike Ellis

Mike has been a Disney fan since his first trip to the Magic Kingdom in 1979 when he was 11 years old. Since that first trip, he has seen parks open, lands close, and attractions come and go, but one thing remains the same, his love for Disney is as strong as ever.

His Disney adventures caused him to start My Dreams of Disney because he wanted to document for his family and friends all of the special Disney Memories he has enjoyed with his family, and since that first post in 2010, Mike's hobby has become his passion!

Now a Travel Consultant with Pixie Vacations for over nine years, Mike has helped many of his readers plan and have incredible Disney vacations of their own. Check us out on Facebook and Twitter. We all love Walt Disney World and visit as often as our schedule and finances allow! I like sharing my passion for Disney with others, and meeting new Disney-loving friends. Interesting list, Mike. I might have to do my own Top 5 lists. This is a good idea – and my list would look very different from yours. ;)

Everest is definitely my daughter’s #1, but, honestly, it terrifies me! I ride it with her, but I keep my eyes closed the entire time! :) My top five favorites are: (1) Festival of the Lion King (2) Finding Nemo – The Musical (3) Kilimanjaro Safaris (4) The Tree of Life (5) Safari Mickey & Safari Minnie – I know the last two may not count as attractions, but I love them!! :)

  3. Sheila Fretz – Los Angeles, California – My name is Sheila and I am the founder of Cooking Underwriter. I am an Underwriter by day with a passion for Gluten Free Cooking and Baking. Who happens to love Disneyland Resorts and Walt Disney World for many reasons, The Gluten Free Food Options, The Rides, The Restaurants in addition to the fun that is had by all when visiting. I visit Disneyland an average of two to three times a month and have been to many celebrations there over the years. Including Weddings, Birthday Parties and I also attended the 25th Anniversary Homecoming Party. I currently reside in Los Angeles, California with my husband and daughter. I live about an hour or so from Disneyland. My love of Disney first took hold, when I was a child and my Mom would take us to Disneyland 3 or four times every summer. My family really went to Disneyland in the Spring and Summer but that was always okay. After my husband and I were married and our daughter was born we joined and became annual pass holders and have been visiting frequently over the last 13 years. I also love visiting Walt Disney World which I believe is also full of magic wonderful memories. I haven’t visited Walt Disney World as many times as I have Disneyland but I always have fun when I go.

Killamajaro Safari has always been my favorite. On my bucket list is to do a private tour and dinner.

I love the shows at Animal Kingdom. My number 1 & 2 are the Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo. The other attractions are for filling time between shows. I probably do Expedition Everest and Killamajaro Safaris everytime, and the rest of the park I can take it or leave it.

  5. Shawna Majors

I have to say, my family and I aren’t actually big fans of AK. When we go, we spend about 1/2 day there. We go on the Killamajaro Safari and the Kali River Rapids but don’t have too much interest in sitting through the shows. I do love the Tree of Life, though and It’s a Bug’s Life.

These Animal Kingdom attractions are great recommendations. I’d forgotten how fun Expedition Everest was until my most recent visit :). I also loved the creativity in animating the characters of Finding Nemo: The Musical.

You made great choices, but I wish more people would talk about Dinosaur. On my honeymoon, it was one of our favorite rides of the Animal Kingdom! Everyone needs to experience the thrill!
