Hello everyone, and welcome to this week’s Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia segment! Today we are taking a look at some recent Disney history — this comes to us from way back in 2009!
Did You Know…
That on this day in 2009, comedian, writer, director, and banjo enthusiast Steve Martin performed to a near-capacity audience at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Martin (who worked at Disneyland as a teen) has turned serious intention to both playing and composing with his first full album of music, The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo.
In addition, Martin was quoted as saying during the performance the following quote:
“My wife inspired the title for this next song – it’s called ‘When Are You Going to Stop Playing the Damned Banjo?’“
Steve Martin has been a point of reference on our blog before, he had a quote that went out when the great Jim Henson passed away that we used before, and if you haven’t seen it before, here is a YouTube video of Steve Martin and Kermit the Frog playing Dueling Banjos together! Enjoy!
Now, please go check out the rest of the entries, and as always, special thanks to my friends Heidi from Heidi’s Head, Jenn from Disney Babies Blog, and Jodi from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse for co-hosting with me!
