Hello everyone, and welcome back to another edition of Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia! This weekly series is a lot of fun for us, and as always, we are joined by Jodi from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse (our fearless leader), Jenn from Disney Babies Blog, and Heidi from Heidi’s Head! Today we have a trivia question about modesty from Lou Mongello’s book Walt Disney World Trivia, Volume 2:

“I was born modest, but it didn’t last” can be heard in _________?

Who do you think said that, and in what attraction was it said? Do you think it was Simba who might have said that in Legend of the Lion King? Or perhaps Flick said it in ‘It’s Tough to be a Bug!’?
I’ll tell you, I asked my wife this trivia question, and she got it, but I didn’t…I wonder what that says about my trivia skills or Disney knowledge?
So tell me, do you have the answer yet? Well, I’m sure you’ve got a good guess, and you probably do have the correct answer, so here it is!
a.) The American Adventure
At the beginning of The American Adventure, Benjamin Franklin tells Mark Twain that pride is one of our national passions, and even those who overcome it are proud of their humility. Twain replies that he was born modest, but “fortunately, it wore off.” He apparently said this originally in an address to the YMCA at the Majestic Theatre in New York City, March 4, 1906. Another Twain line: “I am only human, although I regret it.”
Those of you that thought it was The American Adventure were absolutely right! I thought it was Mark Twain, but for some reason I thought it might have been on the Liberty Square Riverboat that it could be heard, since that goes around Tom Sawyer Island…

I love Disney trivia questions! I knew it was said by Mark Twain, but I was thinking Liberty Square Riverboat as well. Now, I remember that from The American Adventure. I love that show. Thanks for sharing and for hosting!
