Disneyland Trivia…did you know…
That on May 13th, 1992, Fantasmic! was officially dedicated in Frontierland at Disneyland Park? This new 22 minute night-time fireworks and visual hydrotechnic show, featuring fireworks, live actors, water effects, fire, music, boats, decorated rafts and projections onto large mist screens, takes place over the Rivers of America. (A second Fantasmic! will debut in 1998 at Disney-MGM in Florida.)
I had no idea! My family has never seen Fantasmic, and I know we are missing out, so we’ll correct that this summer, but I would have almost bet money that it debuted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios first! Maybe we’ll see it in both parks and decide which is the best! So tell me, where is your vote for best Fantasmic!, if there is one: Disneyland or Disney’s Hollywood Studios? I haven’t seen Disneyland’s Fantasmic in person yet, but I have seen a video of it. The Walt Disney World version is my favorite, although that could be because I’ve seen it in person so many times! Thanks for sharing and hosting!
I would have guessed DHS had it first too! I had no idea! I’ve seen it only once and that was at WDW, so I can’t compare. It was a pretty cool show, though! Thanks for hosting!
As with Jodi and Kimberly I haven only seen the WDW version of Fantasmic. Trying to get to Disneyland this fall so we can spend more time and hit things like this. But I would have guess it was at Disney World first as well. Thanks for teaching me something today!
