Romantic Disney Restaurants: Cinderella’s Royal Table

The romance at Walt Disney World is evident in many of the great dining establishments that you can experience.  Today, though, I’m going to focus on what I believe is the pinnacle dining location — inside Cinderella Castle — as we talk about the romance you can experience at Cinderella’s Royal Table! Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Orange Loop.

Romantic Disney

Over the years, my wife Cindy and I have visited Cinderella Castle many times.  Contained within the iconic structure is Cinderella’s Royal Table, a signature dining restaurant upstairs in the Castle. While most people think of this as a great character meal to enjoy with their children, there is a case to be made for why this is an incredible romantic Disney restaurant.  Let’s dive into the details below!

Romantic Disney

Like I mentioned, most people are used to pictures like this one when they experience a meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table.  Today, of course, most of those characters are going to be Princesses, but you get the idea — for most people, Cinderella’s Royal Table is for their kids to eat inside the Castle.

Therein lies the rub, though.  What more romantic setting can be found for a romantic Disney experience?  In this blogger’s opinion, eating inside Cinderella Castle is at the top of my list for romantic spots at Walt Disney World. The location, the food, the whole idea of eating in a grand dining hall overlooking your “Kingdom” — well, the romantic in me just thinks that is absolutely perfect.

On June 13, 2012, we were part of a large group dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table.  We had a table for 9, which included 5 adults and 4 children — not at all your typical romantic setting at all.  What made this a special night, though, was that we happened to be inside the Castle when Wishes was set to start!  We were able to enjoy the fireworks from the show while watching through the windows, and the show music was broadcast into the restaurant, so we never missed a beat.  All of a sudden, what started as a big group party of 9 turned into a truly magical, romantic Disney experience for myself and my wife Cindy.

I could go on and on about all of the romantic moments from my days eating in the Castle.  There was the day that Cindy and I — while we were eating our way through Disney while pregnant with Sophie — stopped at Guest Services that morning in January, 2001, and got a reservation for the Castle that day at lunch.

Of course, not all romantic Disney moments happen inside the Castle at Cinderella’s Royal Table.  I was fortunate to be able to witness this special moment, just feet from the restaurant.

Romantic Disney

While this certainly doesn’t qualify as part of our look at Romantic Disney Restaurants, I hope it does convey to you why I think Cinderella’s Royal Table qualifies for me as a romantic Disney restaurant.

Have you ever had a romantic Disney experience at Cinderella’s Royal Table? Please share if you have, and thanks for stopping by!

Via Napoli

19 Days: Via Napoli

Via Napoli

The chefs are ready to make some of the yummy pizza for the Guests of Via Napoli as Stromboli, Vesuvio, and Etna look on!

Hello everyone, and welcome to My Dreams of Disney, the site that strives to turn My Dreams of Disney into Your Dreams of Disney!  Today we are down in the teens in our #DisneyWorldCountdown!  We are at #Day19, and for this day, we have chosen Via Napoli as our focal point for the day!  I chose this restaurant, which is located in Epcot’s World Showcase at the Italy Pavilion, because Sophie has requested this restaurant for her birthday dinner (I can’t believe she’ll be 13!) on June 19th, and since today is Day 19, it fit right into the way my brain thinks!

We have eaten here just one time, back in 2012, but I’ve got to tell you, it made an immediate impact on my family and friends, so it was no surprise to me that Sophie requested the restaurant for her birthday.  The restaurant features great pizza, but also other great Italian dishes, and if you want the full menu to start planning your own visit to the restaurant, feel free to click on this link to go to the Disney World website.  The restaurant is also, in my opinion, very beautiful, with the unique pizza ovens staring at us, and the gorgeous chandelier that hangs in the check-in area.

The colorful chandelier hangs in the lobby of Via Napoli, right where you check-in!

Couple these great features with the incredible food, and it’s no surprise to me that this restaurant has become a favorite of not just my family, but many other guests that have passed through it’s doors.  What about you, though?  Is Via Napoli on your list of Must Eat restaurants, or do you skip it by?  Let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by!

Garden Grill Restaurant

30 Days: Garden Grill Restaurant

Garden Grill Restaurant

The Garden Grill Restaurant is our selection for #Day30 in our #DisneyWorldCountdown!

Hello everyone, and welcome to #Day30 in our #DisneyWorldCountdown!  Today we are taking a look at one of my favorite restaurants in all of Disney — the Garden Grill Restaurant, located inside the Land Pavilion at Epcot’s Future World.  This restaurant is situated above the Living with the Land Boat ride, and the restaurant slowly spins  so that you can see all of the outdoor seasons that are depicted in the ride below.  It’s a lot of fun, and my family eats here almost every trip.

I love just about everything that this restaurant represents — great food, a unique twist (no pun intended) with the revolving restaurant, character interactions with Chip and Dale, and Mickey Mouse and Pluto, and wholesome vegetables that are prepared from vegetables that are grown right below the restaurant in the hydroponic greenhouses that are part of the tour (among other places).  All in all, this restaurant is at the top of the list for me.

The Garden Grill Restaurant features Chip & Dale and usually includes Mickey Mouse & Pluto too!

As you can see, Mickey Mouse loves to have his picture taken with Guests!

Both Sophie and Stephanie had their pictures taken this year!

The menu at the Garden Grill is diverse.  Everything is served family style, with a beef dish and accompanying vegetables, a turkey dish with accompanying vegetables, a fish dish with accompanying vegetables, a great salad, wonderful warm bread with an orange honey butter, and a wonderful dessert!  Yummy!  Here is the menu in case you wish to check it out for yourself.

The Garden Grill Restaurant is also on the Disney Dining Plan, and costs just one table service credit per person.  Additionally, they do accept the Tables in Wonderland discount card as well.

What do you think of the restaurant?  Have you ever eaten there before?  Let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by!

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater

57 Days: Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater

Hello everyone, and welcome to #Day57 of our #DisneyWorldCountdown!  Today we are going to take a look at the restaurant for one of our Dining Reservations – the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!  This is a first for us, we have never eaten here before, but I’ve heard some good things about it, so we’re going to give it a shot.  The restaurant is basically themed after an old fashioned Drive In Movie Theater, with “outdoor” screens and old ’57 Chevy’s for you to sit in.

The menu consists of a wide variety of things, including burgers, pastas, and ribs, and — from what I understand — incredible milkshakes!  Here is a link to the menu for you to peruse.

I’ve been told that we need to request a vehicle for our table, because they do have a few tables that are not cars, so that’s what we are going to do.  As you can see from these photos, it really is like going to an old fashioned drive in — even if it is indoors!

Have you ever eaten at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater?  What did you think of it?  I don’t have a whole lot to go on here, but I think I’m going to really enjoy it.  When I was a kid, my grandparents, who lived near Tampa, Florida, took me to a restaurant that was themed like an old fashioned wild west type town, with different storefronts that had different functions.  That was a lot of fun for me, and I’m kind of hoping that this will be a similar experience to that.

Still, I won’t know until we get there, so I hope you will fill in some of the cracks for me and tell me what you think of the restaurant.  Thanks everyone, and go out and make it a great Disney Day!

La Hacienda de San Angel

81 Days: La Hacienda de San Angel

Hello everyone, and welcome to today’s #DisneyWorldCountdown post!  Today is Day 81 in our countdown, and for today’s post we are featuring a restaurant that we’ve never eaten at before — but one that is on our reservation list for this year!  I’m talking about La Hacienda de San Angel, located near the Mexico Pavilion on the shores of the World Showcase Lagoon.  This restaurant, from all I hear, is a great one because it provides excellent access to view Illuminations during your meal.  Our dinner is set for 6:30 PM the day we eat there, so I’m thinking we’ll be done with dinner prior to Illuminations starting, but that’s okay too, we’ll still be able to enjoy what I hope is a great meal!

The restaurant doesn’t look like it would be big enough to allow for people to come back for a good viewing spot for the fireworks, so I don’t think we would be able to come back for Illuminations and see it from the restaurant (like you can do at the California Grill, for example, for Wishes).  Can anyone confirm that for me if you know?  If you do know, please let me know via the comments, and thanks!

Mexican food is one of my favorite types of food to eat, but believe it or not, I have never eaten at a Mexican restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort.  This restaurant is one that I’m really looking forward to eating at, and I can’t wait to give you a dining review after we eat there!

Thanks for stopping by everyone, now go out and make it a great Disney Day!
