86 Days: Reflections of China

Reflections of China

Reflections of China – our choice for Day 86 in our #DisneyWorldCountdown

Hello everyone, and Happy Friday!!!  Today is Day 86 in our #DisneyWorldCountdown, and for today, we’re heading over to Epcot’s World Showcase to talk about the 2nd of the CircleVision 360 movies.  This one is located in the China Pavilion, and is aptly named Reflections of China.

I like Reflections of China because it provides a glimmer of what life in China is like — or, perhaps, was like — in the days of yesteryear, before everything became so politically motivated.  However, because China is so restrictive towards Western culture, the film is dated, and feels like it could benefit from an update to the movie.  However, that doesn’t seem very likely in today’s day and age.  So, instead, we are stuck with what we’ve got, but despite that, I truly do enjoy taking a look at Reflections of China.

I think that, for me, it’s the ability to immerse myself in the culture of a country and learn more about it that makes the World Showcase such a great place to visit.  Where else can you travel and visit 11 countries all in one day, eat local food, speak with people native to that country, and pickup on the cultures of that country?

Have you ever seen Reflections of China?  If so, what did you think of it?  Or, if you haven’t, why not?  Please let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by today!  If you haven’t seen Reflections of China, do yourself a favor and see it once — you might find that it was more enjoyable than you thought it would be!

Wordless Wednesday – November Calendar Shot

One of my favorite photos is of the Canada Pavilion. I love the tranquility of it all!

For  Wordless Wednesday this week, I had a pretty hard time coming up with what I wanted to share as my “November Calendar Shot”.  You see, I’ve never been to Walt Disney World — or any Disney park, for that matter — in November, so I was pretty clueless as to how to proceed.  In the end, though, I decided that beauty is good all year long, so I decided to just share with you some of my favorite shots from Epcot World Showcase and it’s pavilions.  Enjoy!

If my memory serves me right, this is meant to be a tribute of Victoria Gardens. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

The American Adventure Pavilion is beautiful at any time of the year!

Exploring the Epcot Shows

In the conclusion of our “Exploring the Shows” series, I’m going to take a walk around Epcot, and look at all of the Epcot shows that you can see there.
For our purposes, a show is something on screen or on stage, that you watch as you would watch like a movie or play.

The American Adventure

This show, featuring 35 Audio-Animatronics characters, recreates some of the extraordinary things, and introduces us to some of the incredible people that have helped make America the greatest place in the world!

Captain EO Starring Michael Jackson

My family has never been a big Michael Jackson fan, so I’ve never even seen the show.  In all honesty, despite my good intentions to check out the show, I just can’t excite myself enough to see it.  Do you all like it? If so, let me know in the comments, and thanks!

Circle of Life

The Circle of Life is a short film that I would classify as a documentary about how humans in general often cause a lot of chaos with the environment, and what we can do to improve that.

Impressions de France

Impressions de France is a show that we don’t see very often, but nonetheless, it is one that I really enjoy watching.  I had seen it as a kid, but forgotten about it until a couple of years ago when I made a point of seeing it and realizing that it was a great movie!  I highly recommend seeing it if you haven’t.

O Canada!

Next on our list is O Canada!, quite simply, my favorite show in all of Epcot.  I love Martin Short as the narrator; I love looking at all the majestic beauty of Canada; I love the “pre-show” with the trivia that the CMs do before the movie starts; and most importantly, I love the Circle-Vision 360 movie, with all of it’s breathtaking photography and scenery — and I can see it all from any angle.

Reflections of China

Next to O Canada!, Reflections of China is another Circle-Vision 360 film, and I enjoy it immensely.  When I watch the movie, I am transported back to a day gone by, when China was much more rural, more peaceful, and tranquil.  I really like Reflections of China, and can’t wait until I get to see it again.

I hope that you have enjoyed my mini-series about the various shows located at the parks.  What have I missed on your list of shows that you can’t do without seeing?  Do you have some shows on your list that I didn’t consider to be shows?  Tell me about them in the comments please!  Thanks for reading!
