Hi everyone it’s me, Sophie!!! And, for once, this post’s inspiration came from school! Yes. I know what kids out there are thinking: “What?! Disney is a HAPPY place! It has NOTHING to do with the torture house that is SCHOOL!!!!” And I’ll give you the school being a torture house part, BUT, this post’s inspiration did come from school. It came from the one class worth going to school… BAND!!! My band teacher, Ms. Rackley, is the best teacher in the world! Today in class she showed us some awesome videos one of which i just had to show to you. The guy who was performing sang the Oscar award-winning song “Let it Go” with a surprise twist. His name is Brian Hull and, from what his little blurb said, he is as much a fan of Disney as I am, and we all just know how much of a Disney fan I am. Here’s the video. I promiseyou. are. going. to. loveit.
Awesome, right? I KNOW!!!!!!! He is totally amazing isn’t he?! I told you that you would love it! And about him being as much a disney fan as me, if you don’t believe it here is his blurb.
With so many covers of Let it Go coming out, people may forget the original Disney magic that this song has, so what better way to preserve that magic with other Disney and Pixar characters singing the song! So enjoy this Disney and Pixar Mashup! Performer is me, Brian Hull and the audio is recorded and produced by Seth O’Neal.
How about that?!
Anyway that about does it for us. I hope you enjoyed the video and I will see you next time.
Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney on Wheels and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail.
One of the biggest concerns when you travel to Walt Disney World, especially during the summer, is making sure that you get enough fluids in your body so that you don’t get dehydrated. I’ve been at the Magic Kingdom on two separate instances and seen medical crews helping guests who suffered problems because of the heat and lack of water. One was over at Pinocchiohaus, and the other was a person who fainted while in line at Casey’s. Both were clear reminders that it is extremely important that you make sure you get enough fluids in your system so that your body doesn’t experience problems. Here are five tips that you can take with you on your next Disney vacation — regardless of where or when — to make sure that you are staying hydrated throughout your vacation.
Tip #1: Freeze Water Bottles in your refrigerator at the resort
I’m sure that you are going to find that these are all common sense things to do, but you’d be surprised how often I neglect to do them, and my wife remembers to do so for me! Well, for those of you that are wives, maybe you won’t be surprised… :) Anyway, either bring water bottles with you when you go to Disney, or buy a bottle of water, or something, but fill up the water bottles at night before you go to bed and pull them out of the freezer or refrigerator in the morning and carry them with you. Instant cold ice water! Then, fill them back up later on in the day.
Tip #2: Request a cup of ice water at any counter service restaurant
Any Disney restaurant will provide a cup of ice and water for you at your request — for free. I believe they give out the 20 ounce cups for this. Don’t hesitate to ask for them, even if you are getting a regular type drink such as a soft drink or something also.
Tip #3: Bring some things to liven up your water
If you are like me, the water at Disney just doesn’t taste very good — even the ice cold water. As a result, it can be hard to keep drinking that water when you know you need it. That’s why we bring things to add some flavor to our water. We’ve used Crystal Light, I’ve had friends use MiO, and even, if you need a boost of Vitamin C, a product like Emergen-C might not be a bad idea for you either!
Tip #4: Don’t forget about fruit drinks
I don’t often get a fruit drink, but there are a whole slew of different fruit drinks that you can get that are refreshing on a hot summer day and taste good, too! Being hydrated doesn’t mean you can’t drink things other than water!
Tip #5: The Water Fountains
I know, I know, the water fountains have water that (at least in my opinion) doesn’t taste very good. But, in a pinch, when all of these other suggestions are not an option for some reason, the water fountains are there, and they are available, so take advantage of them! I know I’d rather drink that water than have an experience that wasn’t good happen to me.
Hello everyone, and welcome to day 94 in our #DisneyWorldCountdown! Today we are looking at the new Disney Magic Bands! This is part of the billion dollar renovation to it’s technology that Walt Disney World is putting into place — and I’ve got to tell you, I don’t think there has been anything as polarizing at Disney since Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride was closed to make room for the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh…people either love the magic bands, or they hate them (I’m sorry, I try not to use that word, but that is how many people feel).
For our trip in June, it will be the first time that any of us have ever experienced the Magic Bands, and we have been on the My Disney Experience website getting our colors chosen, putting our names just so onto them, and all of that, so we are just about ready order them!
While I have not experienced them, my niece and her husband have, so I hit them up for a few things that they liked and didn’t like about the Magic Bands, and here is what they had to say…
As for the bands… I found them to be cool and exciting since they were something new. The way I see it though is that it could possibly be a “fad” or whatever that word may be, and that it will soon end. With Disney though… It’s hard to say. They were definitely convenient and for Shane and I they always worked as designed to and we did not experience any glitches. Um what else… They were pin protected which was really good and a perk. It was less hassle since you didn’t have to dig out your card all the time. For me it was hard to fasten and keep it comfortable. It took a day or so to get “use” to it. They weren’t too tight because they are adjustable but the give on them is not all there. If they were more bendable it’d make it more comfortable IMHO. And yes. We did use fast pass. We weren’t too highly disappointed but it was not the same because of the limited choices. Oh. With sleeves.. Mine was a pain in the rear if you have a sweatshirt or jacket on it’s hard to pull the sleeve over it to expose it and use it. At least it was for me seeing as it’s semi bulky for a wrist band.
So there you have it…the word on the street from my niece Stephanie and her husband Shane! So tell me please: How many of you have used the Magic Bands, and what did you think of them? Did you like them, not like them, or somewhere in between? Please let me know, and thanks for stopping by today!
Starting Tomorrow we are just 100 days until our trip! Time to countdown our days with a look at all we want to experience!
Hello everyone! Thank you for stopping by My Dreams of Disney! It is absolutely incredible to me, but tomorrow will mark 100 days until we arrive at Walt Disney World! For me, the trip always takes on more meaning when you get inside the triple digit numbers — so starting tomorrow, we’re going to have a post each day — let’s call it our Disney World Countdown — counting down from 100 – 0 and marking each day with a look at something unique and fun that we are looking to experience on our trip. Some days it will be a reminder of a great attraction; some days it will be a look at a parade or show; some days we will look at a particular restaurant we want to eat at; and some days, it will be an experience we just want to explore in more detail and remember as a lasting memory of our trip. So tune in tomorrow, please, and see all of the things that you will want to note for your own trips to Walt Disney World!
How many days until your next Disney World adventure? Let us know in the comments, please, and until that day arrives, spend time with us as we explore all that Walt Disney World has to share with us — and you, too!
