Hundred Acre Woods WALL MAP featuring Pooh & Friends

Hallmark stores are almost becoming as good as, or better than, The Disney Store for offering great Disney treasures! I kid you not.

Take a look at what we just picked up recently:

15″ W x 15″ H x 1 1/2″ D

This great reproduction of the Hundred Acre Wood map can stand or be hung, which is what we have done with it. It features all of your favorite characters from the A. A. Milne’s classic Pooh stories. Here are closer looks at each corner of the piece:

The houses of Rabbit, Kanga, and Owl

Christopher Robin’s house

Notice that the compass has the letters spelling out Pooh’s name instead of the cardinal points of North, East, South, and West.

Winnie the Pooh’s house (or Mr. Sander’s, depending on who you ask)

Eeyore’s gloomy place… er, house

The only omission is Piglet’s house. Poor little guy! But he shouldn’t feel too bad as Tigger is missing altogether! Most of the other main attractions of the Hundred Acre Wood are represented here.

In conclusion, kudos to Hallmark for offering such wonderful things. And to Christopher Robin we say: Work on your spelling!

Disney In Pictures Theme: “Think Pink!”

My niece and her husband were visiting us last weekend, and before they left, I asked her for a theme for this week’s Disney In Pictures segment.  She immediately told me “Think Pink!”

As a result, I posted this on Facebook on Monday:

My newly married niece Stephanie and her husband Shane are visiting on their way home from their honeymoon, so I gave her the option to pick the theme for this week’s Disney In Pictures theme! According to Stephanie, the theme will be “Think Pink!” Send me your photos of things at Disney that are pink — whether it be pictures of Piglet, or icing on a cupcake, or maybe a fireworks photo, or something like that. Send them to mickey@mydreamsofdisney.com, include your name, why the picture is special to you, and your blog if you have one. Thanks! Your photos will be featured on Sunday, so send them in!

The response has been incredible, with multiple photos being sent!  If you have sent pictures, you don’t need to send them again — I have them all.  However, if you haven’t sent a photo yet, what are you waiting for?  Take a few moments and send them in, just follow the instructions above!  There is always room for one more photo!

Disney Dining Review: The Crystal Palace!

The Crystal Palace is a character dining location located over at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World!

As the sign indicates, The Crystal Palace is “A Buffet With Character” — in this case, Winnie the Pooh and all his friends!  Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore (as well as Pooh) all come by to see you, and you can get your picture taken with them, get autographs, and even march in the parade with them!

Sophie has been drawn to the Crystal Palace since her early trips.  This restaurant is more often than not a mainstay in our Disney Dining planning.  We didn’t eat there on our last major trip, but something tells me we will eat there in June when we are on our vacation with our great friends!

While the Crystal Palace is just your standard buffet, there’s something about the restaurant that keeps drawing us back time and time again.  For starters, it is one of the few places to meet and get pictures with the gang from the Hundred Acre Woods.  Another thing that it’s got going for it is the incredible charm of the restaurant.  Take a look at some of these pictures and tell me what you think!

I think Pooh is always going to be Sophie’s favorite — the look says it all!

These pictures are from 2007, the first year that we stayed on property at Disney World.  We have also eaten there in 2008, 2009, and 2010 before taking a break in 2011.  For us, we love the Crystal Palace for so many more reasons than just the food.  For me, the beauty of the Crystal Palace is how we all are able to just spend a little time with our favorite childhood friends, and share a hug like the ones that Sophie has done in these pictures.  If you have never eaten at the Crystal Palace, I highly recommend that you give it a try!
