Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

As we continue our Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide series, today we are taking a look at one of the last, if not the last, part of the Fantasyland Expansion to open.  Today we are sharing the details on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with you!

Attraction Name: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Attraction Type: Thrill Ride, Small Drops
Height Requirements: 38″ or Taller
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of Operation: All Day
FastPass+: Available
Interactive Queue: No

Without a doubt, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is the best part of the Fantasyland Expansion for me.  This coaster is a great attraction, and the Imagineers have gone all out in their attention to detail and theming to be found throughout the attraction.  With FastPass+ service available, this is one of those “must do” attractions that, if you don’t ride, you will probably regret having not done so.

Have you been able to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction yet?  If so, what did you think of it?  Among my favorite parts is singing along with the Dwarfs as they go off to work, and also making the car swing as much as possible through the curves!  Thanks for stopping by, tell me what you think of the attraction in the comments, and have a great day!

Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Peter Pan’s Flight

Peter Pan's Flight

Next up in our Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide is an attraction that is at the top of the list for many people.  Peter Pan’s Flight is one of those attractions that does a terrific job of suspending disbelief and transporting you out of Walt Disney World and right into the story.  Here are the details for this attraction:

Attraction Name: Peter Pan’s Flight
Attraction Type: Slow Ride
Height Requirements: Any Height
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of Operation: All Day
FastPass+: Available
Interactive Queue: Yes

When it comes to the attractions at Walt Disney World, especially at the Magic Kingdom, there are few rides that compare with the excitement we get when we ride Peter Pan’s Flight, which is located in Fantasyland.  With Peter Pan’s Flight, you get it all — a great trip into the classic story of Peter Pan, your own flying galleon to sail off into the night sky with, and a swashbuckling adventure! It always amazes me that the Imagineers were able to make such a realistic attraction. From the moment you take off, the use of forced perspective makes it seem as if you are truly flying! Of course, the Imagineers did create the ride so that your galleon is suspended from a track over your head, which certainly does make it easier to feel like you are flying!

What do you and your family think of this great attraction? Please let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by today!

Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Mickey’s PhilharMagic

Mickey's PhilharMagic

In our next installment of the Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide series, today we’re taking a look at Mickey’s PhilharMagic, one of my favorite movie shows to watch in all of Disney.  Here are all the details on this attraction:

Attraction Name: Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Attraction Type: Movie/Song
Height Requirements: Any Height
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of Operation: All Day
FastPass+: Available

Mickey’s PhilharMagic is one of my favorite movie/shows to watch.  The music and scenes from the movies are great, the 4D technology of the movie is great, and the songs are such classic songs that you can’t help but sing along!  I know that some children are frightened by the dark and the water and whatnot, but most people seem to do just fine.

One thing that is interesting to me is that, with the implementation of the FastPass+ system, it seemed like Mickey’s PhilharMagic was much busier than it had been in years past.  We saw it two times last year, and each time the theater was packed with just a few solitary seats available.  I don’t remember a time when it was that busy.

In the end, this is a great attraction for some awesome music, great movie scenes, and in summer, a great way to beat the heat.  Do you and your family stop by?  Let us know in the comments, and thanks!

Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Mad Tea Party

Mad Tea Cups

In our next installment of our Magic Kingdom Attraction Guides series, we continue our exploration of Fantasyland by taking a look at the Mad Tea Party.  This attraction is a favorite of our daughter, as you can see in this photo from some years back!  Here are the details on this attraction:

Attraction Name: Mad Tea Party
Attraction Type: Spinning Ride
Height Requirements: Any Height
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of OperationAll Day.
FastPass+: Available

The Mad Tea Party is an original day attraction at the Magic Kingdom, opening on October 1, 1971, although the name was originally called The Mad Hatters Mad Tea Party, but the premise is the same.  The ride is based on the Unbirthday party scene in Alice in Wonderland, and as I’m sure you know, the tea cups can spin based on the center wheel in each tea cup.  In Disneyland, the attraction was an opening day attraction as well, but one bit of trivia is that the tea cups had no braking system for the first two years, so there was no stopping you from spinning as fast as you could, except, of course, your ability and strength to do so!  Do you like the Mad Tea Cups?  Let me know, and thanks!  To conclude, have a look at this picture of Sophie and my wife Cindy on the attraction — a whole lot of joy, and that’s why kids love this attraction so much!

Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Cinderella Castle

Cinderella Castle

Next in our Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide series in Cinderella Castle.  This Disney Weenie is the original Weenie for Walt Disney World, and is both a landmark and an attraction.  Inside these walls you’ll find dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table, hair styling at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, a walk through from the end of Main Street, U.S.A. to the beginning of Fantasyland — although it is sometimes blocked for shows — and of course, you’ll see Wishes soaring high atop Cinderella Castle each night, and on good nights, you’ll see Tinkerbell flying away from the Castle.

Attraction Name: Cinderella Castle
Attraction Type: N/A
Height Requirements: Any Height
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of OperationAll Day, except during Wishes.
FastPass+: Not Available

I find it interesting that Cinderella Castle is listed as an attraction on the Disney World website, because it isn’t really an attraction in the sense that I think of it — it’s more of a landmark to me.  Still, it is listed as such on the website, so I treat it as such for our Attraction Guides series.  As a starting point for Fantasyland, though, there is no better structure that I can think of than Cinderella Castle — the building where reality of Main Street, U.S.A. becomes the world of fantasy in Fantasyland.  What do you think of Cinderella Castle?  Please let me know in the comments below, and thanks for stopping by!
