Christmas Scenes at Walt Disney World

Christmas Scenes at Walt Disney World

The majesty and wonder that is Walt Disney World knows no end when it comes to the Christmas season at the Orlando resort. Everywhere you turn around, you are snapping a photo of this scene or that scene, and the settings that you know from other times of the year are wonderfully transformed into a spirited holiday setting for your enjoyment and amazement. My family has been fortunate enough to visit two years in a row for Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World, and I hope we are able to make it back there again in the future.

In addition to the “usual” Walt Disney World pursuits — FastPass selections for Expedition Everest, 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, and others — to dining reservations at Olivia’s at the Old Key West resort and Tokyo Dining in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot — we also experienced a lot of the sites, sounds, and wonders that Disney offers up during this magical time of year.

For this post, I wanted to share with you some of the photos I took of the beautiful Christmas Scenes that we saw during our trip over November 21st – 25th. Unfortunately, I didn’t get near enough photos, but the ones I’ve gotten, I do like. I guess it just means I need to plan a trip next year and just plan on taking a million photos!

If I can help you plan that Christmas trip, please let me know. You can email me at mike@pixievacations.com, you can call me at 919-606-6725, or you can submit a free, no-obligation quote request right here.

As you can see from my meager pictures, I haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of all of the wonder that Walt Disney World has for us during the holiday season. Tell me, what is your favorite part of Disney during this time, and do you have a season you like to visit more than this one? Let us know in the comments in our Facebook comment system, or in a regular comment here on the site. Thanks for stopping by, and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Haunted Mansion

17 Days: The Haunted Mansion

Haunted Mansion

Sophie and Anna Jane after Anna Jane’s first trip on the Haunted Mansion!

Hello, everyone, I am your host — your Ghost Host!  Today we are at #Day17 in our #DisneyWorldCountdown, and as you might have figured out by now, we are taking a look at the Haunted Mansion, located in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom!

The Haunted Mansion is a crowd favorite, full of fun, mild thrills and chills, and, best of all, 999 Happy Haunts!  They are always looking for more guests, do you volunteer to become number 1,000 in the house?

Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion is home to 999 Happy Haunts — will you become number 1,000?!

My favorite part of the ride is when we ascend up into the attic and see the bride with the hatchet!  Then, descending down into the graveyard is quite a bit of fun as well.

Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion has a very somber atmosphere about it, don’t you think?

What do you think of this attraction?  Did you know that it’s a Magic Kingdom original attraction? Does it scare your young children, or do they love it?  Do you ride it multiple times, or are you getting sick of it?  Let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's Day

Disney Valentine’s Day Suggestions!

Valentine's Day

Mickey & Minnie enjoying a ride on Dumbo — one thing we can do with our loved ones on Valentine’s Day!

Hello everyone, and welcome to this week’s Riding the Rails post!  This series is hosted at the Magical Blogorail website, and I thank them for having this great series of posts.  This week we are talking about some things we can do around Valentine’s Day, so perhaps these posts will help you get some ideas on what you want to do with your special someone at Disney!  For starters, perhaps you will take a ride on Dumbo with your special someone, like Mickey & Minnie did back in 2010 in this photo!

Valentine's Day

Perhaps you want to take your loved one to World Showcase instead?

Another option you might want to consider is taking your loved one over to Epcot and stroll around the World Showcase.  Perhaps grab a drink, or a bite to eat, maybe take in a showing of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, and stroll leisurely around the world as you explore some of the things you don’t often see at Epcot!

Valentine's Day

Of course, if this is a special someone, you might do this…

Back at the Magic Kingdom, perhaps this is the time you consider doing this with your loved one, as happened to my niece in 2012!  She was not expecting it, and everyone started crying when Shane proposed.  It was a great moment in my life that I’ll remember forever.

Valentine's Day

You know, Valentine’s Day is sometimes a day for Dad’s and Daughters, or Mom’s and Sons.

Perhaps you are visiting the parks with your daughter, or perhaps your wife and you want to do something special for your daughter.  Well, why not treat her to a dance on the Biergarten dance floor.  This is a memory that I cherish, and I think Sophie does too — and I know that Cindy does!  Thank you Cindy for taking this picture.

Valentine's Day

Perhaps, though, you want a romantic getaway at the Grand Californian Hotel…

To this day, I think this is one of the funniest pictures I have ever seen in my resort room.  When we checked in, our room wasn’t ready, but they went through the check-in process with us, and even spoke with Sophie.  When we walked in and saw this decor on the bed, Cindy and I first thought we were in the room for a newlywed couple, but it really was our room!  We have no idea why they did that, but Sophie thought it was a hoot, and loved collecting all the rose pedals!

So there you have it, my friends.  Some suggestions on some things to do at Disney for Valentine’s Day.  Thank you for stopping by, now please take a moment and check out the rest of the entries!  Just click on the image below, and thanks!  Remember everyone to go out and make it a Disney Day!

Wordless Wednesday – January Calendar Shot

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Wordless Wednesday post for this week! Our theme this week is our January Calendar Shot, and as always, I would like to thank Deb from Focused on the Magic for hosting this weekly series.  Today I’ve got quite a few photos to share with you, and since tomorrow is New Year’s Day, I figured what better way to kick off our January calendar photo than with some great fireworks!  The top picture is but one of many, and this was taken in July, 2013, during Illuminations when we were part of a Dessert Party.  I have more photos to share from this same event, I hope you like them!

Lastly, here is a shot that takes us back to June, 2010.  This shot was taken the year that Disney introduced the Summer Nightastic series, and has been a favorite shot of mine for a long time.  I hope you enjoy!

The Downtown Disney store Days of Christmas is a great place to celebrate year round!

The Downtown Disney store Days of Christmas is a great place to celebrate year round!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Wordless Wednesday post for this week!  As always, special thanks goes out to my friend Deb from Focused on the Magic, who is responsible for hosting this series each week.  Thanks Deb!  To be honest, I’m not even sure what the theme is this week, but I’ve decided to go off the board — at least, I think I am — and share some Christmas photos that I took at the Days of Christmas store in Downtown Disney a few years back.  I hope you enjoy them!  The way I see it, you can go to that store and enjoy the feeling of Christmas year round!  Now, enough talk, please enjoy the photos!
