Searching for the Hidden Mickey at Walt Disney World

Find the Hidden Mickey — it’s easy to spot!

Where is the Hidden Mickey?

Good morning, everyone, and thanks for stopping by! Today I thought we’d take a look at some of the fun things that you can do at Walt Disney World that don’t cost anything! Specifically, let’s look for the elusive Hidden Mickey!

Hidden Mickey’s, for those that don’t know, are little additions at Walt Disney World, where someone, somewhere has created a Mickey Ears design — perhaps on a painting, or in the rocks, or somewhere else altogether. It is a fun little past-time to look for these hidden gems when you are navigating the parks, or waiting in line, or even sometimes find them while you are on the ride itself!

Periodically we are going to share some Hidden Mickey’s that we’ve found in our days at the parks, and we welcome you to share your favorites as well on our Facebook page. For now, though, here’s a few of our favorites from through the years. Special thanks to all of my friends for contributing some of these over the years!

Of course, we’ve had opportunities before to talk about Hidden Mickey’s — this is by no means a new concept for us. Some of our favorite discussions, in fact, have centered around them! If you want a refresher, take a look at our Haunted Mansion Hidden Mickey’s post from 2012!

Can I help you plan your next Disney trip? If so, send me an email to mike@pixievacations.com, or feel free to request a free, no-obligation quote online today! Thanks for spending time with us today, and please tell me in the comments what your favorite Walt Disney World attraction is! Thanks, and have a great Disney day!

Hidden Mickeys Can be Found Everywhere!

They are everywhere in the parks. And you can find them in everyday life too. But assembled here are a few of my favorite manufactured Hidden Mickeys:

This famous Hidden Mickey is just outside of Walt Disney World and can be seen from the I-4. Maybe not the most practical shape for a power line pole, but it does look good!

Mickey Paint Cans

This do-it-yourself Hidden Mickey is quite ingenious! It shows that you and I can make our own cool Hidden Mickeys anywhere, anytime, out of anything!

Mickey Light Bulb

Now that’s a good idea! A light bulb in the shape of a Hidden Mickey. I’d buy them!

Last but not least is this image:

Disney Nouns Logo (2)

I took this at Walt Disney World while riding in one of the boats. It was being worn by a girl sitting across from me. I thought it looked cool against the water and shoreline, especially with the tilted angle of her head. With a little computer manipulation, I had an awesome shot of a not-so Hidden Mickey!

So what is your favorite Hidden Mickey?

Hidden Mickey in the El Capitan Theatre

You just never know where you might find a Hidden Mickey. I guess that’s why they call them ‘hidden’. But while attending an event in the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood I had to navigate through some back hallways and stairwells to get to an interview.

On the way, this is what I saw:

OK, not very well hidden!

If you have a chance to visit the El Capitan, it’s unlikely that you would ever see this Hidden Mickey. Normally guests aren’t allowed in these backstage areas.

Fun

Disney Mickey Pizza – Mickey Shaped Pizza

There must be literally thousands of what we call ‘Hidden Mickeys’. But I think you’ll agree that this Mickey shaped pizza takes the cake. Or the pie:

(Hidden) Mickey Pizza

My sister got this for me well beyond the expiry date of 06-03-09 but I cooked it up anyway. But… I didn’t eat it. Hey, I’m a fan of all-things Disney, but I’m not crazy!

Here’s how it looked after a vacation in my oven

I love the box showing Mickey and Goofy in the kitchen preparing the Special of the Day: Pizza. I wish I could have eaten it, but alas, we will never know if a Hidden Mickey tastes as good as it looks!

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia – The TTA!

TTA

Monica, ML, and Sophie relax on the TTA!

Hello everyone, and welcome to this week’s Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia post, the weekly series where I team up with my friends Heidi from Heidi’s Head, Jenn from Disney Babies Blog, and Jodi from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse to share with you a bit of Disney trivia!  I apologize for the delay in getting this post out, I have been having some issues with the network or computer (I’m not sure which) — but everything seems to be okay now!

This week I’ve got a trivia question of my own making based off of something my daughter Sophie said to us about the TTA — the Tomorrowland Transit Authority!  This is likely a very easy trivia question, but let’s see — read it and please leave your answer in the comments below!

The TTA Trivia Question!

Where can you find the Hidden Mickey on the TTA?
a) On the belt of the lady getting her hair curled.
b) In the model of what Epcot was originally going to look like.
c) Somewhere in the Buzz Lightyear scene.
d) There is no Hidden Mickey.

So what do you think?  Do you know the answer to our trivia question?  Let me know in the comments, and thanks for playing along with us!  Now, please go check out the rest of the entries by clicking on the links below, and thanks for stopping by!  Remember to go out and make every day a Disney Day!
