My Top 5 Epcot Attractions

Hello everyone, and welcome to the second in my series of favorite attractions!  Last week, we took a look at my top 5 Magic Kingdom Attractions; today we are looking at my top 5 Epcot attractions!  Does my list match up with yours?  Read through, and then let me know your list in the comments below!  Thanks for stopping by!

#5: Maelstrom

Maelstrom, located over in the Norway pavilion, is a boat ride that takes you through Norway’s past, present, and future as you see all of the ways that the seas impact the lives of Norwegians!  It is fun, with trolls, polar bears, and oil rigs — as well as a drop near the end!  It used to have a movie that would be shown at the end, but that isn’t shown very often anymore.

#4: The American Adventure

When it comes to history, especially the history of our great country, at Epcot, there is nothing that comes close to The American Adventure, a great show that features many of the great moments of our country’s history, but highlights on it’s most important aspect — the people!

#3: Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros!

The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros is a boat ride in the Mexican Pavilion that takes you on a journey through Mexico to try and find Donald Duck!  Jose Carioca and Panchito are your navigators as you look — and ultimately find — Donald Duck!

#2: Soarin’

Soarin’ used to be one of my least favorite attractions — but I’ve had a change of heart!  This incredible ride takes you through the California countryside as you see the sights from a unique perspective — a hang glider!  Sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful beauty, knowing that it’ll be okay, you won’t fall…

#1: Spaceship Earth

At number one, though, is my favorite attraction at Epcot — Spaceship Earth.  This unique attraction, which takes you deep within the geodesic dome, shows you how far we have come in our communication methods — and leaves us wondering how far we can journey…at the end of the ride is a simulator to give you an idea of what your future might have in store for it, and don’t forget all the great things you can do in Project Tomorrow!

Honorable Mentions

Illuminations: Reflections of Earth — while not an “attraction” in the sense that I’m thinking, is still a great draw, and something I look forward to seeing every time we visit!

O Canada is one of my favorite shows, with it’s CircleVision 360 view of everything, and narration by Martin Short!  Stop by and see it in the Canada Pavilion!

I hope you have enjoyed my top 5 attractions at Epcot!  What are your top 5?  Let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by!

Sophie’s Favorite Epcot Attractions!

Last week, in part one, Sophie went a little overboard with her favorite Disney attractions! She got to number nine and realized that every single one of them was about the Magic Kingdom! As a result, we have decided to break the attractions post up into multiple posts, so for today, we’ve got Sophie’s Favorite Epcot Attractions to share with you! Like last week, at the end of this post you’ll find a link with the actual audio that you can listen to, so sit back, read, listen, and enjoy! Thanks everyone!

This week, Sophie is joined by her BFF Riley, and she has agreed to join in on our conversation! So Sophie and Riley, what are your top ten attractions at Epcot, and why?

  1. The consensus number one attraction at Epcot by both girls was Soarin’.  This simulation ride over the wonders of California is a favorite by many, including Sophie and Riley!
  2.  Next up was Sophie, and she chose the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros!  Sophie loves looking at all of the places the boat ride takes you!
  3. Riley chose Test Track for her next choice!  She actually got to see Test Track when she and her friends were down for a Cheerleading competition!
  4. Spaceship Earth was next on the list.  Sophie loves seeing how far we’ve come from the days of hunting Woolly Mammoths!
  5. Maelstrom in Norway is next on the list.  Riley has never ridden this ride, but she wants to because she loves drops and she learned that there is a small drop here.  One day we’ll all ride it together!
  6. The France Pavilion — with the movie there — was number six on the list.  The girls also like all the characters you can see in France.
  7. China, with it’s CircleVision 360 theater and movie, is next on the list.  You can also get a good photo here as well!
  8. Canada with it’s movie is also on the list at number eight.  These movies are great because they give us a vision of the country we are in that we wouldn’t normally have!
  9. The Seas with Nemo and Friends is next.  The clamshell ride is fun for the girls!
  10. Living with the Land is our tenth choice — I think the girls like seeing how all the food is grown, and the different scenes is neat also.

My list of 10 places I want to eat at Walt Disney World!

Plenty of pixels have been devoted to my love of Walt Disney World dining, so much so that yesterday on the Magical Blogorail we talked about our favorite Disney breakfast spots!

So today, for this post, I thought I would talk with you about the 10 places at Walt Disney World that I would love to eat at, and haven’t been able to do so yet!  This could easily be a list of 50 places because there are so many great places to eat at Walt Disney World, but I’ll start with just 10.  These aren’t in any particular order, but I’d love feedback to determine which of these should be left off my list in your opinion, and which ones are your favorites.  Thanks!

  1. Artist Point – This is a 2 dining credit Signature restaurant at the Wilderness Lodge.  It sounds like a really great place to go for a nice romantic dinner with my wife!
  2. California Grill — Located on the top of the Contemporary Resort, this restaurant offers incredible views of Wishes — and even if you eat at the restaurant during the day, you can come back at night to watch the fireworks from there by showing your receipt!
  3. Citrico’s — This restaurant, located at the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, looks absolutely incredible!  I would love to take Cindy here for a special dinner!
  4. Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show — Located at the Polynesian Resort, the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is a mix of great family-style food and a Luau with dancing, fire shows, and more!
  5. San Angel Inn Restaurante — Located inside the Mexican Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase, this restaurant overlooks the start of the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros.  I know that some people have said that the food is iffy, but I want to try it for myself, and I picked this because the atmosphere appears a little better then La Hacienda de San Angel, which overlooks World Showcase Lagoon.
  6. Narcoossee’s — This restaurant, located near the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, has a great reputation for incredible food!
  7. Victoria & Albert’s — Eating here with Cindy for my 25th Anniversary would be absolutely incredible!  Only 12 1/2 years to go on that! :)
  8. Whispering Canyon Cafe — Located at the Wilderness Lodge, my buddy Chip said that this is an incredible place to eat!  I’ll take his word for it and make a reservation there in the future.
  9. Le Cellier Steakhouse — I’ve heard people say that this is an absolutely incredible steakhouse, but I’ve also heard people say that i t isn’t as good since it was made a signature restaurant.  What do you all think?
  10. Kouzzina by Cat Cora® — I’ve always liked the look of this restaurant, which is located in the Boardwalk region of Walt Disney World.  What do you think of it, worth it, or is it overrated and only a “name recognition” type restaurant?

So there you have it, my top 10 places I’d like to eat at but haven’t yet.  How did I do?  Do you recommend some that I don’t have on my list?  Please let me know in the comments below, and thanks!
