Top 5 Reasons for Disney-themed Top 5 Lists

Who doesn’t love a Top 5 list? Throw Disney into the mix and you’ve got yourself a piece of Internet Heaven on a stick. Or… something really, really, good!

So sit back and be amazed at the Top Five Reasons you didn’t know existed for every website and blog in the universe to continually post Top Five Lists:

Reason Numero Five-0

Counting Practice

With the deterioration of today’s educational system, more and more children are finding it hard to do even the most basic of academics, such as counting. But thanks to the draw of Disney and Top 5 Lists, children the world over can now count to five!

And thanks to Disney Nouns, and our Top 5 Lists, they can do it backwards too!

Reason Numero Four-0

I Got Nothin’

Nope. Still nothing.

Reason Numero Three-0

Education

Who has time to break out the old Encyclopedia Britannica set in this busy day and age? And one can only Google so much! So Top 5 Lists are a perfect way to get a small piece of highly-biased information about a nonsensical subject in just two minutes or less.

You’re welcome, Internet!

Reason Numero Two-0

Fun

Hey, if Walt Disney says it’s fun… it’s fun dagnab it! Of course, for this reason to be valid, you have to replace ‘family park’ with ‘Top 5 List‘. But you can work with me here, right?

Reason Numero One-0

Traffic

Let’s be honest, we bloggers are egocentric glory-seeking megalomaniacs with a desperate need for attention and… you guessed it: Traffic!

We don’t care why you come to our sites as long as you come! So we’ll post a Top 5 List about anything. Seriously. Anything. But only a complete nut would post a Top 5 List about the Top 5 Reasons for Top 5 Lists!

Hey, at least I’m honest.

Bing Crosby Likes the Face of Mickey Mouse

Picture this: Bing Crosby is in a cherry picker (a bucket on a hydraulic boom) being lifted up to and past huge pictures of the faces of famous personalities from yesteryear. As they say, you can’t make this stuff up, folks!

This could only happen on a TV special in 1968. Bing was joined by Bob Hope and the Supremes, among others, for what could only be described as… OK, just weird. Here is a still from the show:

Supremes in Western leather, Bing… in?

But now let’s have a look at the moment when things got really weird:

Bing in a bucket 40 feet in the air!

I wish I had been fast enough to grab the camera to get a picture of the long-shot of Bing and the complete machine. It was… again, weird!

And what did he see?

Mickey Mouse

Bing was singing about famous faces so I guess the mouse was bound to be included.

You know, I don’t see any other sites covering things like this. I’m beginning to worry about my sanity. Maybe I’m not really seeing this stuff. Bing in a bucket singing about the face of a fictional mouse? Nah, couldn’t have happened! Could it?

Curse you GetTV, stop messing with my reality!

Donald Duck for President on Hee Haw

I love watching old TV shows. They harken back to a simpler time and are usually quite innocent and ‘safe’.

I also love it when I see Disney references in these old shows! Recently I was watching an old episode of Hee Haw and saw:

I’m not sure he’d be qualified…

This statement appeared on the program in late 1969 perhaps in response to the recent election of Richard Milhous Nixon (January 9, 1913 – April 22, 1994) as the 37th President of the United States who served from 1969 to 1974.

Throughout many episodes this duck walks across the screen and holds up a sign. Usually it contains a slogan designed to make you leave ducks out of your cooking schedule. But this time our fowl friend took it to the next level!

Now that’s funny!

Hidden Mickey in the El Capitan Theatre

You just never know where you might find a Hidden Mickey. I guess that’s why they call them ‘hidden’. But while attending an event in the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood I had to navigate through some back hallways and stairwells to get to an interview.

On the way, this is what I saw:

OK, not very well hidden!

If you have a chance to visit the El Capitan, it’s unlikely that you would ever see this Hidden Mickey. Normally guests aren’t allowed in these backstage areas.
