Hello everyone, and welcome back to another edition of Disney In Pictures, the weekly series that invites you to share your pictures with the rest of us! In this week’s edition, we are looking at your pictures from off the beaten path — that is, pictures that don’t necessarily depict the classic Disney image we all think of. Let’s get started!
As most of you know, last Friday at 11:59PM the deadline was met for applicants for this years round of people trying to claim one of the coveted seats on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel! I was fortunate enough to be able to apply again this year. If you remember, in the first year I didn’t make it out of round one and the second year I made it to round two and the video, but not round three and the phone interviews. What do you think will happen this year?
If you were one of the ones that applied, I imagine that you are going through much the same anxiety that I am. The anticipation of being able to apply is replaced with nervousness when you do apply. Then, after the deadline, it’s “sit around and wait” time while you second guess yourself time and time again on your answers. Did I provide enough information about me in my 100 word essay? Did I get the answers right?
Now, all of us prospective moms can do is monitor Facebook, monitor Twitter, especially the hashtag #wdwmoms. How far do I think I’ll make it this year? Well, all my life I’ve been an optimistic chap. I believe the best in people, I believe in my abilities, and I believe that Jesus, my Lord and Savior, is there for me, and I wouldn’t have applied for the Walt Disney World Moms Panel if I didn’t think I would make it. Does this mean that I will be selected for the Panel? Of course it doesn’t. But it does mean that I am confident that I have what it takes to make it.
The biggest thing to me, though, is that I stay true to who I am. It is an honor to be selected for the Walt Disney World Moms Panel — in fact, it is an honor just to apply — and if I am selected, that will be the culmination of a dream.
So, to all of my fellow Moms Panel Applicants, let me ask you this question: what do you do to keep from thinking about the Moms Panel 24 hours a day? Let me know in the comments or on Facebook, and thanks! I’ll see you on Twitter! :)
Welcome to our entry to this week’s Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop, hosted as always by my good friend Deb from Focused on the Magic! This week’s theme is Night Time Magic, and I wanted to take the time tonight to share with you a memory from five years ago.
August 6, 2007, we were visiting Walt Disney World for the first time where we stayed on property, and “back in the day,” Disney’s Animal Kingdom had evening Extra Magic Hours, although they were limited in scope to what you could do. We were at Dinoland, U.S.A., when we just happened to come upon a block party right there in the middle of the area, around the location by Primeval Whirl and the Boneyard. It was dark out, the music was going, and right there in the middle were Chip & Dale and Goofy! It was an incredibly fun evening, late enough to experience a different side of Disney, but not so late that our little six year old would be overtired the next day. These pictures I have are the cream of the crop from that party, I hope you enjoy them!
Thank you for stopping by and visiting us this week! This was a truly magical moment in our Disney lives, and Sophie, who is now 11, has grown up so much since that first trip on property. It’s these type of posts that were the root cause for why I started My Dreams of Disney to begin with, so thank you for stopping by and sharing in my dreams and memories! Don’t forget to stop by and see all the entries, to do so, just click on the button above, and also, don’t forget to enter to win our Disney Dooney & Bourke Wristlet!
