Not even close to Wordless Wednesday – Disney Storytelling!

Magic Kingdom, Mickey's Toontown Fair

Hello everyone, and welcome to my rendition of this weeks Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop, hosted by my good friend Debra from Focused on the Magic!  This week, the theme is Disney Storytelling, so I decided to take a slightly different path on my journey today.  I think the mindset of Debra was to share a photo that told about the stories that Disney does such a great job telling to us, and her post reflects that.  However, I take pride in the stories that I weave as a Disney fan blogger, so I thought I would take a journey, and share with you three pictures — pictures that are from lands and attractions of the Magic Kingdom that have either been closed or modified to be different.  So I’ll call this “Disney Storytelling…with a twist!”

As you can see in my opening photo, I have chosen to share with you the wonderful house of the Queen Mouse herself, Minnie Mouse!  Sophie, Cindy and I always enjoyed walking through the houses, Sophie in particular enjoyed all the things she could play with, and I think Cindy got a kick out of the “Daisy Plant” that Minnie had in the house.  Do you remember them?  No?  Well, here they are for you:

From Minnie’s Country House, I thought I would take you on over to Fantasyland, and reminisce a bit about a ride that we enjoyed.  Of course, I’m talking about Snow White’s Scary Adventures.  It’s funny how quickly we get used to not seeing something where it used to be.  When we were there in June, that was the first time we had been there since it closed, but it was almost like we never realized it used to be there.  Here is a picture of Snow  White that I hope you enjoy:

The last ride that I’m going to take a look at is one that closed because of an attic fire, but has since been re-opened, and more closely resembles what it was when it was first opened back in 1971.  Of course I’m talking about The Enchanted Tiki Room.  When the attraction opened on opening day, October 1, 1971, it was known as Tropical Serenade.  However, in 1997 it was closed, and reopened at The Enchanted Tiki Room – Under New Management.  I don’t really remember it as Tropical Serenade, but I do remember it Under New Management, and I’ve also seen it as The Enchanted Tiki Room, and I really liked it better Under New Management!  I know many of you like it better now, and that’s fine, I just wish the fire hadn’t happened that caused it to close.  My picture from this attraction is kind of a blurry one, but kind of spooky at the same time, it’s Zazu looking like he’s staring right into your soul!  Enjoy!

So I’ve gone right off the board with Deb’s Wordless Wednesday theme, but I hope you have enjoyed my words and my pictures!  Tell me please, what do you think about the closures and changes to these three attractions/lands?  Please let me know in the comments, and then click on the Wordless Wednesday logo below to check out the rest of the entries!  Thanks for stopping by!
