Today for Day 26 in our countdown to Disneyland series, we are taking a look at the Storytellers Cafe, which is located inside of the Grand Californian Resort.  This dining location serves for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  The breakfast is a character breakfast called the “Chip ‘n Dale Critter Breakfast”, and has among other features, the ability to order off the menu or to select the buffet for your meal.  With made to order omelets, great Disney breakfast fare, and an excellent venue for your meal, the Storytellers Cafe is one of the top dining locations on property — at least, I think it is!

We will be eating there for breakfast the morning of June 24th, so look for an in depth review of the restaurant when we get back from Disneyland!

In the meantime, tell me what you think of the Storytellers Cafe!  Have you ever eaten here before?  If so, did you eat at breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and what did you think of your dining experience?  Was the price good for the food you got, or was it overpriced?  Let me know in the comments, please, and thanks for stopping by!

How Mickey’s Fun Wheel took away my fear

Mickey's Fun Wheel in Paradise Pier

Mickey’s Fun Wheel in Paradise Pier

By Mike Ellis.

Hello everyone, and thanks for coming to visit today at My Dreams of Disney!  Today I have a confession to make — I have a fear of ferris wheels!  When I was a kid, I read way too many horror books about the freak in the funhouse who stalked everyone at the carnival, and as a result, I became convinced that the ferris wheel would fall apart right when I made it to the top.  If you were to ask my wife and daughter, they would tell you that I would be as far away from the ferris wheel as possible!

Paradise Pier in Pictures

When we arrived at the Grand Californian Resort & Spa for our stay during our trip to Disneyland, I had no idea that we were going to get the view that we got! When our room was ready and we went to it, after looking at all of the incredible detailing in the room itself (look for a more detailed post about that later) we were amazed by the view of Paradise Pier from our balcony, which you can see in the picture above. In addition to that view, I thought you would like to see some other pictures I’ve taken from the balcony. These were all taken with my iPhone, so please forgive the quality. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for following along with us! I hope that you are all well, and that these posts get you excited about your own Disney vacations to come! When is your next trip to a Disney Park? Let me know in the comments, and thanks!

6 Days til Disneyland – Soarin’ Over California!

And then there were six…six days left until we leave for Disneyland!  Today we are taking a look at one of my favorite attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — and of course, at Disney’s California Adventure park — Soarin’ Over California!

The interesting thing about this attraction is that I didn’t used to like it!  I don’t know what it was, but for some reason, the realism of it all was so incredible that it was freaking me out!  I don’t know if I had some sort of inner ear thing or what, but I really did not care for it all that much.  I would ride it, though, because I could look over and see that if I fell, I would only break a leg or something, you know, easy peasy, right?!

However, the more I rode it, the more I liked it, and I really enjoy the ride now, and can’t wait for our trips on it when we get to Disneyland!  Soarin’ Over California is a fan favorite for a lot of people, though, so FastPass tickets are a must, at least in my mind they are, but that’s okay.  It’s the only attraction in Condor Flats, but it’s not far from Grizzly River Run, so that might draw some of the crowds away from Soarin’.

What is your favorite part of Soarin’ Over California? Why not leave me a comment and let me know, and thanks!

14 Days til Disneyland – Blue Sky Cellar!

The Blue Sky Cellar at Disneyland is one of those things that those of us that are Walt Disney World veterans just don’t have any idea about.  Located at The Winery in Disney’s California Adventure park, the Blue Sky Cellar, as best I can figure out, is one of the places where the Imagineers show previews of new ideas that they are working on.  For me, this is like a Disney Gold Mine of information, and I can’t wait to experience this for myself!

In fact, the Fantasy Faire “land” that we wrote about on Day 55, is a product of the Blue Sky Cellar!

What do you think of the Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar?  Is this something that you Disneyland regulars really get excited about when they introduce new exhibits into it’s spaces?  Please let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by!
