Little Red Riding Hood – Tiggerific Tuesday!

Little Red Riding Hood

The year: 1922. The series: “Laugh-O-Gram”. The title: “Little Red Riding Hood”.

Today, July 29, 2013, is the 91st anniversary of the release of the Laugh-O-Gram cartoon Little Red Riding Hood. Here it is straight from This Day in Disney History:

1922:
The first Laugh-O-Gram cartoon Little Red Riding Hood is released. A silent black & white short, it is written, produced, and directed by Walt Disney and animated by Rudolph Ising. It is considered Walt’s first full-length short cartoon as prior to this only minute-long cartoons have been produced.

Now, why don’t you enjoy the YouTube video of the cartoon? After that, make sure you check out the rest of the entries in this week’s Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia! Thanks as always goes to my friends Heidi from Heidi’s Head, Jenn from Disney Babies Blog, and Jodi from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse for co-hosting with me as well!

Hello everyone, and welcome to this week’s Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia! Today we are looking at Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland! Joining me are Jodi from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse, Jenn from Disney Babies Blog, and Heidi from Heidi’s Head!

Did You Know…

That today in 1957, Shirley Temple takes part in the dedication of the Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through at Disneyland. In attendance is Walt Disney and Temple’s oldest daughter Linda, son Charles, and youngest daughter Lori. (Back in 1939 child star Shirley Temple had presented Walt with an honorary Academy Award – one big Oscar & seven little ones – for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.)

My mom loved watching Shirley Temple movies as a kid, and I did too! Thanks for stopping by, please go check out the rest of the posts!

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia – the Garden Grill Restaurant!

The Garden Grill Restaurant Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia!  Today we are exploring trivia from the Walt Disney World Trivia Book, Volume 2, by Lou Mongello.  This weekly series is the brainchild of Jodi from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse, who invited Heidi from Heidi’s Head, Jenn from Disney Babies Blog, and myself to join her in our weekly look at trivia from around Disney!

Today we have a good one for you, let’s see if you can figure it out:

The Trivia Question:

Q: What was the original name of The Garden Grill restaurant located in the Land Pavilion?

a.) The Circle of Food
b.) The Good Turn
c.) The Land Grille Room
d.) Lunching with The Land

Did You Know?

That The Garden Grill, a revolving restaurant in The Land Pavilion, rotates faster at breakfast than at dinner because Disney wants diners to experience an entire revolution during their meal and people spend less time eating breakfast.

And now, the Answer!

b.) The Good Turn!  Like many of the eateries in The Land Pavilion, the original table-service restaurant has been renamed a number of times since the pavilion’s opening. It opened as The Good Turn on October 1, 1982, and then became the Land Grille Room in 1986.  Today it is known as The Garden Grill and offers Character Dining.  Whatever its name, the restaurant has (literally) revolved around the boat ride below since its opening.
