Lands of California Adventure – Condor Flats

Minnie’s Fly Girls perform in Condor Flats

Hello everyone, and welcome to Condor Flats, home of the Minnie’s Fly Girls Show and Soarin’ Over California!  This Land of Disney’s California Adventure park pays homage to California’s glory days of aviation, and even has a bit of history to go with it that I’ll share on the next Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia post!

This is the first land that we are exploring in our Lands of Disney California Adventure series, and while this land is fairly small, and almost feels like a pass-through from one land to another, it’s certainly got some good points, that’s for sure!

Soarin’ Over California is the featured attraction of Condor Flats

The wonderful thing about the California Adventure version of Soarin’ is that it is no where as crowded an attraction as the version at Epcot is!  As a result, you can almost walk right in and get a seat!  Other than that, the ride is the same as far as I could tell, but the lack of waiting is certainly a bonus in this writer’s book!

After you finish with Soarin’, check out the times for Minnie’s Fly Girls — it’s a fun little show that features the Queen Mouse herself!  While you are watching, grab yourself a drink and a churro — the churros at California Adventure are absolutely incredible!

For you west coasters out there, the number 47 is prominently featured several places in Condor Flats.  I know what the number represents, but do you?  If you do, let me know in the comments!

While you are in Condor Flats, check out the Fly ‘N Buy Souvenir Shop — and look at the clock inside the shop.  It features a unique time that will be discussed in a future post.

So, Condor Flats doesn’t have a whole lot to talk about, but it’s still one of the lands of Disney’s California Adventure.  Let me know in the comments, please, whether this is a blow through land or one you linger in, and thanks for stopping by today!

60 Days til Disneyland – Monster’s Inc.!

We are fast approaching our halfway point in our countdown to Disneyland series!  Today is Day 60 in our countdown, and we are taking a look at the attraction Monster’s Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!

This attraction, located at Disney’s California Adventure in Hollywood Land, is a taxi ride straight into the heart of Metropolis!  Throughout the ride you’ll see scenes from the movie Monster’s, Inc., and you will see whether or not Mike & Sulley are able to safely get Boo out of Metropolis and back to her room!  Do you think they’ll be able to do it?  If you aren’t sure, maybe you should go check out the movie — it’ll probably give you a few ideas on what is going to happen, plus, if you have a Disney trip planned, it will also serve as a great countdown movie to your own trip!

I think my family will really enjoy Monster’s Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!  Does your family enjoy it?  Why not let me know in the comments or on our Facebook Page, and thanks for stopping by!

61 Days til Disneyland – Disney Jr. – Live on Stage!

Truly, there really isn’t much difference between Disney Jr. – Live on Stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s California Adventure.  Also, this is definitely on our list of attractions that are designed for a younger age child then we have.  Still, I have chosen this show for Day 61 in our countdown to Disneyland!  Perhaps for no reason other then what you see in the photo below…

That’s right — Sofia the First is one of the featured shows that you can see in the Disney Jr. Live on Stage lineup!  Since my daughter is named Sophie, she always takes great interest in other people or characters having her name, so that might be just enough reason for us to watch it once!

Truly, though, I don’t think we’ll watch it more then once, and it may end up being a case of being in the “wrong place at the wrong time” and not seeing it at all, but what about all of you?  Do you take in Disney Jr. — Live on Stage when you visit Disneyland?  If so, what do you and your kids think of it?  Please let me know in the comments, and thanks again for stopping by!
