My Top 5 Epcot Attractions

Hello everyone, and welcome to the second in my series of favorite attractions!  Last week, we took a look at my top 5 Magic Kingdom Attractions; today we are looking at my top 5 Epcot attractions!  Does my list match up with yours?  Read through, and then let me know your list in the comments below!  Thanks for stopping by!

#5: Maelstrom

Maelstrom, located over in the Norway pavilion, is a boat ride that takes you through Norway’s past, present, and future as you see all of the ways that the seas impact the lives of Norwegians!  It is fun, with trolls, polar bears, and oil rigs — as well as a drop near the end!  It used to have a movie that would be shown at the end, but that isn’t shown very often anymore.

#4: The American Adventure

When it comes to history, especially the history of our great country, at Epcot, there is nothing that comes close to The American Adventure, a great show that features many of the great moments of our country’s history, but highlights on it’s most important aspect — the people!

#3: Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros!

The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros is a boat ride in the Mexican Pavilion that takes you on a journey through Mexico to try and find Donald Duck!  Jose Carioca and Panchito are your navigators as you look — and ultimately find — Donald Duck!

#2: Soarin’

Soarin’ used to be one of my least favorite attractions — but I’ve had a change of heart!  This incredible ride takes you through the California countryside as you see the sights from a unique perspective — a hang glider!  Sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful beauty, knowing that it’ll be okay, you won’t fall…

#1: Spaceship Earth

At number one, though, is my favorite attraction at Epcot — Spaceship Earth.  This unique attraction, which takes you deep within the geodesic dome, shows you how far we have come in our communication methods — and leaves us wondering how far we can journey…at the end of the ride is a simulator to give you an idea of what your future might have in store for it, and don’t forget all the great things you can do in Project Tomorrow!

Honorable Mentions

Illuminations: Reflections of Earth — while not an “attraction” in the sense that I’m thinking, is still a great draw, and something I look forward to seeing every time we visit!

O Canada is one of my favorite shows, with it’s CircleVision 360 view of everything, and narration by Martin Short!  Stop by and see it in the Canada Pavilion!

I hope you have enjoyed my top 5 attractions at Epcot!  What are your top 5?  Let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by!

Hi everyone it’s me, Sophie!!! And, for once, this post’s inspiration came from school! Yes. I know what kids out there are thinking: “What?! Disney is a HAPPY place! It has NOTHING to do with the torture house that is SCHOOL!!!!” And I’ll give you the school being a torture house part, BUT, this post’s inspiration did come from school. It came from the one class worth going to school… BAND!!! My band teacher, Ms. Rackley, is the best teacher in the world! Today in class she showed us some awesome videos one of which i just had to show to you. The guy who was performing sang the Oscar award-winning song “Let it Go” with a surprise twist. His name is Brian Hull and, from what his little blurb said, he is as much a fan of Disney as I am, and we all just know how much of a Disney fan I am. Here’s the video. I promise you. are. going. to. love it.

Awesome, right? I KNOW!!!!!!! He is totally amazing isn’t he?! I told you that you would love it! And about him being as much a disney fan as me, if you don’t believe it here is his blurb.

With so many covers of Let it Go coming out, people may forget the original Disney magic that this song has, so what better way to preserve that magic with other Disney and Pixar characters singing the song! So enjoy this Disney and Pixar Mashup! Performer is me, Brian Hull and the audio is recorded and produced by Seth O’Neal.

How about that?!

Anyway that about does it for us. I hope you enjoyed the video and I will see you next time.

Monster's Inc.

90 Days: Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

Monsters Inc.

The Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor takes you right into how the power is made!

Hello everyone, and welcome to today’s #DisneyWorldCountdown post!  We’re at day 90 in our countdown, and for today, we are taking a look at the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor!  This special show features the stand up comedy of many of the Monsters that you saw in the original movie as they work to fill the power canisters so that the doors will open and you’ll be able to leave the area after the show!  In fact, this is such a special show that they even invite you, the audience, to participate along by texting in your jokes for possible use in the show!

My family enjoys Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor because it gives us a little break from the heat of the day, and it gives us the opportunity to enjoy possibly being on the television screens and hearing your joke performed.  As a result, I give Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor two thumbs up!

Magic Bands

94 Days: Magic Bands

Magic Bands

Hello everyone, and welcome to day 94 in our #DisneyWorldCountdown!  Today we are looking at the new Disney Magic Bands!  This is part of the billion dollar renovation to it’s technology that Walt Disney World is putting into place — and I’ve got to tell you, I don’t think there has been anything as polarizing at Disney since Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride was closed to make room for the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh…people either love the magic bands, or they hate them (I’m sorry, I try not to use that word, but that is how many people feel).

For our trip in June, it will be the first time that any of us have ever experienced the Magic Bands, and we have been on the My Disney Experience website getting our colors chosen, putting our names just so onto them, and all of that, so we are just about ready order them!

While I have not experienced them, my niece and her husband have, so I hit them up for a few things that they liked and didn’t like about the Magic Bands, and here is what they had to say…

As for the bands… I found them to be cool and exciting since they were something new. The way I see it though is that it could possibly be a “fad” or whatever that word may be, and that it will soon end. With Disney though… It’s hard to say. They were definitely convenient and for Shane and I they always worked as designed to and we did not experience any glitches. Um what else… They were pin protected which was really good and a perk. It was less hassle since you didn’t have to dig out your card all the time. For me it was hard to fasten and keep it comfortable. It took a day or so to get “use” to it. They weren’t too tight because they are adjustable but the give on them is not all there. If they were more bendable it’d make it more comfortable IMHO. And yes. We did use fast pass. We weren’t too highly disappointed but it was not the same because of the limited choices. Oh. With sleeves.. Mine was a pain in the rear if you have a sweatshirt or jacket on it’s hard to pull the sleeve over it to expose it and use it. At least it was for me seeing as it’s semi bulky for a wrist band.

So there you have it…the word on the street from my niece Stephanie and her husband Shane!  So tell me please: How many of you have used the Magic Bands, and what did you think of them?  Did you like them, not like them, or somewhere in between?  Please let me know, and thanks for stopping by today!
