Welcome to this week’s Prayers for the Week post! Over the past week, I’ve seen examples of people being scared and angry, and I think that it best that I let our Lord and Savior Jesus tell us about anxiety in His own words:
22And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. 23For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. 24Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! 25And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 26If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? 27Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. 30For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31Instead, seek hiskingdom, and these things will be added to you. 32“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Hey friends please pray for our friend Rob Frolk. He had a heart attack and is at Wake Med tonight. They put a stint in today and he’s doing well. Many of you know him as he’s blessed many.
Now, please join us in praying the prayer that Jesus taught His Disciples to pray:
Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed by thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory forever and ever.
Reader Kelly has a prayer request. Here is what she wrote on Facebook, along with my prayer:
I am having surgery this week and I am really nervous! Prayer would be appreciated!
My prayer for her:
I’ll pray right now, Kelly: “Heavenly Father, your daughter Kelly is going through some nervousness related to her medical condition. Please grant Your Peace, Comfort, Strength, and Healing to Kelly and her family and friends at this time. Lord, we also ask that you use her medical team to take care of the issue — be their hands for them, and use their eyes and skill to Your Glory, and for Kelly’s healing. We ask all of these things in the name of Your Wonderful Son, Jesus, with Thanksgiving! Amen.”
Please continue the prayers for Kelly throughout the week. Thanks!
