Delving into God’s Word is one of the best things any of us can do. Having just finished the Men’s Study Bible Study, where we were focusing on the book of Genesis, I found myself intrigued by a Facebook status update by my friend Heidi about this Bible reading series called The Bible in 90 Days. In this case, MomsToolBox.com is the site that is hosting this. Each day, we read a certain amount of the Bible, with the key being that we just read, not study, God’s Word. At this point, I’m not certain if it is beneficial to me or not, but we’re only a week in. The first four days we were reading Genesis, and now I’m finishing up Exodus.
I guess the more I think about it, the more I realize that reading God’s Word isn’t always easy, especially in just 90 days from cover to cover, but the way I see it, the harder it is, the more worthwhile the reward at the end, and the closer to God I’ll be. Have you ever read the Bible from start to finish? I know I haven’t; I’ve tried, but something always got in the way of me completing it. Let me know if you have, and thanks! Now, please continue reading and praying for our prayer requests and praises.
Prayer Requests and Praises…
- Please pray for my friend Sheila’s friend Jodi, who is suffering from uterine cancer and multiple sclerosis. Please pray for healing, for Peace, for Strength, and for Comfort for her and her family and friends.
- My Mom’s friend Scarlett Lucas lost a dear friend today. Please pray for the family of Mary Lowndes, who passed away while at Bible Study. Please pray for the Peace, Comfort, and Strength of her family and friends in the days to come.
- Please continue praying for Aunt Connie and all of the family as we remember Uncle Ted.
- I’m giving Praise to God for the marriage of my parents — they celebrated their 51st Wedding Anniversary on the 1st! Thank you God for the example that my parents have been for me and Robin in our lives!
If you have a prayer request you feel led to share with us, please include it as a comment so we can lift you up in the days to come. There is nothing so moving as to be prayed over! Now, please pray the prayer that Jesus taught His Disciples to pray:
Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory forever and ever. Amen.
