In our new series, I’m going to take us on a trip around the Parks, looking at the attractions that we absolutely love, and are some of our favorites. For today, I’m going to start with one of our all time favorite shows: Mickey’s PhilharMagic!
Who hasn’t seen Mickey’s PhilharMagic? For those that may not have seen it, Mickey’s PhilharMagic is located in the Magic Kingdom, located in Fantasyland, across the way from “it’s a small world”.
We love so much about Mickey’s PhilharMagic. For starters, the location is in a prime location, yet there never seems to be much of a line to see the show, and we are there during the summer months! For another, if it’s raining or extremely hot, taking in PhilharMagic is a great way to get out of the heat or rain. Additionally, Mickey’s PhilharMagic is a 3D show, so it comes with glasses, but in reality, it is a 4D show because there are also special effects that you will notice as you watch the show.
But really, the best thing about Mickey’s PhilharMagic is the music, and the way the animators have integrated the classic Disney songs with the animation of Donald Duck looking to retrieve Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat!
Mickey’s PhilharMagic takes us through some classic Disney scenes from Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Peter Pan, and Aladdin.
If you haven’t seen Mickey’s PhilharMagic — see it! And if you have seen it, check it out again! It’s one of our favorite movies to watch, and I think it will be one of yours also!
I just wrote about my brief experience with this attraction on another site, but I have yet to see this attraction. It was so loud the first time we tried it, my son freaked out (sorry, I couldn't think of a better term than that), and I had to take him out. Hopefully, next trip I can convince him to try it again. My daughters and husband love it through!
I love Philharmagic, from the hidden Mickey, to the expanding screen, getting to (quietly) sing along and seeing the mash-up of all those movies! I try to see it more than once every trip.
I absolutely love Philharmagic.. As a musician, it's been one of my favorites since I first experienced probably in 2003 or 2004 shortly after it opened! On one of our last trips, we walked in and the cast member told us “Donald had lost his orchestra” – technical difficulties with such a cute title!
I guess you can tell that I love it also! :) Thanks everyone for all of your comments!
