The world of Disney is so expansive that there is a niche for just about everyone. There are blogs, magazines, books, CDs, movies, television shows, YouTube videos, and even podcasts available for everyone.
For a long time I didn’t really bother with podcasts, even though I knew that there were several great ones out there. Mainly it was because generally speaking, most of them were just kind of dry, and as I listened to them, I just wasn’t excited about the content that they were telling me about.
However, one day I discovered MouseChat.net, and my era of not listening to podcasts totally changed! Mouse Chat is a podcast recorded and presented by my friends Steve and Lisa over at Pixie Vacations! In it they bring in several of their agents, and talk about all things Disney. Usually they have an announcements section, a news section, and then a topic of the week. What is really good about the podcast is that they all chime in with their different thoughts on things, and there is often quite a bit of fun that they have.
The nice thing about the Mouse Chat podcast is that you can either listen to it on their website, or you can subscribe to it via iTunes. So if you don’t have an iPod, you can still listen to the podcast online. Another neat thing about it is that they have a comment line, so if you like (or don’t like) something about a particular topic, then you can send them a comment. To do so, just email them at comments@mousechat.net. You can even record your question in audio format and send it to them, and they will play your question over the podcast!
Usually the panel on Mouse Chat is comprised of Steve, Lisa, Chris, Natalie, Lauren, and Bob (I think I’ve got everyone, so if I’ve missed some, please forgive me). In addition, they will often bring in a guest or two to help talk about the topic of the week.
I’ve learned some really neat things by listening to the podcast. For example, on a recent podcast, they were talking with a gentleman from the UK who was talking with them about Disneyland Paris. Did you know that there is a restaurant in DL Paris that actually looks out over the “town” scene from Pirates of the Caribbean? That sounds really cool, and I would love to see that over at the Magic Kingdom! What do you think?
For me, in general podcasts just really aren’t my thing. There are some really incredible ones out there, but for whatever reason, they just don’t hold my attention. However, I will say that the folks over at Mouse Chat do a great podcast, and you would do yourself a favor by trying them out for a couple of episodes! You won’t be disappointed!
To connect to their site of podcasts, just go to MouseChat.net online, or subscribe to them through the iTunes store. The podcast is free!
Mickey is a Disney fan who loves to talk to people about Disney! His next trip is with his wife, daughter, and some extended family (for a total party of nine guests) in June, and he can’t wait for that date to get here! When he isn’t writing on My Dreams of Disney, you can also find his work over at Chip & Company and on the Magical Blogorail Red loop. If Facebook and Twitter are you cup of tea, you can also find him there as well!
I'm a guest on this weeks!! I was going to post about it on Friday – I'll link to this article so my readers (ha.. that thought makes me laugh) can read your awesome description! ~Jenn
