Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Today, we’re taking a look at another of Walt Disney World’s newest attractions: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. If you missed it, yesterday we looked at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
March 4, 2020. The weather at Walt Disney World had a high temperature of 88 degrees. It was a beautiful day, and I wish I had been able to be there. That was the day that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park.
The ride is located inside of Grauman’s Chinese Theater, and replaced the Great Movie Ride, which closed on August 13, 2017. Sadly for the attraction, it was only able to be open for 11 days until the Coronavirus pandemic forced the closure of Walt Disney World on March 15, 2020.
When the parks reopened in July, 2020, Mickey & Minnie’s was back in action! We were there but unable to ride it then. We have since made up for that by riding it on our Easter trip and on our 50th Anniversary trip. Let me tell you, every time I ride it I like it more and more!
Here is a photo from the ride, I hope you enjoy!

For me, the coolest part of the whole attraction is how we are sucked into the scene as if we were designed to be part of it. I think that is what really makes a great attraction stand out.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a great attraction, and Disney has done well in bringing it to Disney’s Hollywood Studios park.
