Mike has been a Disney fan since his first trip to the Magic Kingdom in 1979 when he was 11 years old. Since that first trip, he has seen parks open, lands close, and attractions come and go, but one thing remains the same, his love for Disney is as strong as ever.
His Disney adventures caused him to start My Dreams of Disney because he wanted to document for his family and friends all of the special Disney Memories he has enjoyed with his family, and since that first post in 2010, Mike's hobby has become his passion!

Agreed! It's obsolete “technology” and a huge waste of prime MK real estate.
Thanks everyone for all of your great comments! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
I agree. We always get stuck behind some slow person who either can't reach the pedals correctly or who is trying to drive perfect and not hit the middle rail.
I tend to agree. I rode the speedway just a couple of years ago, and I'm not sure even my 5-year old grandchildren would enjoy this ride in it's current form. I think there is some improvement that can be built in and still make it focused on young children as intended. It's just that the park has improved over time, but this one just sits there and makes noise.
My husband agrees with you 100%. Its about the only thing at Disney that he really doesn't really care for.
Tomorrowland Spedway refurb – had to think about this one. I still like that anyone can ride it so I guess I wouldn't speed it up or take it off a track (sorry guys). One thing I think they could do is plus the track. Make it more interactive. Maybe have obstacles or a quest. Include Charachters along the way. That's all I can come up wiht.
I agree it could definitely be livened up somewhat, that being said I don't have little ones anymore… Great post!!
Thanks Heidi, I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Thanks,

To me, it's one of those rides that you can ride anywhere – so it doesn't draw me in like other attractions that are so “Disney”, you know? In fact, it's on my 100 Days to Disney countdown – only because I know Ian will want to ride it (not me). LOL So, yes, I agree with you!
I agree that it could use some updating, however it's still a fun ride for the kids. Maybe they could update the cars and add some cool features to it…like a TV screen, radio. Or add some photo opportunities like they do on Space Mountain.
I've always thought it was a cheap attraction. It just doesn't fit with the rest of the Magic Kingdom. I don't think they should outright get rid of it, it needs to be re-imagined. Since they're doing Radiator Springs in California Adventure, maybe they could produce a new, more reliable track with better cars. It seems to me that they could make it a wild Herbee the Love Bug ride. I'm sure VW would sponsor something like that.
