About Mike Ellis

Mike has been a Disney fan since his first trip to the Magic Kingdom in 1979 when he was 11 years old. Since that first trip, he has seen parks open, lands close, and attractions come and go, but one thing remains the same, his love for Disney is as strong as ever.

His Disney adventures caused him to start My Dreams of Disney because he wanted to document for his family and friends all of the special Disney Memories he has enjoyed with his family, and since that first post in 2010, Mike's hobby has become his passion!

Now a Travel Consultant with Pixie Vacations for over nine years, Mike has helped many of his readers plan and have incredible Disney vacations of their own. Check us out on Facebook and Twitter. Like you, I think Avatar will be done well by Disney, but I was really taken back by the idea when I first read about it.  Though I am actually looking forward to seeing it completed!

Thanks for the comment, Kelly! I think that the announcement of the Avatar and what it means vs what the fans want to see will end up being somewhere in the middle. Thanks again, I appreciate your comment!

Hi Mike! Welcome to the Teal Loop!

I think there'll be LOTS of guests who agree with your second peeve… especially the ones who pay big bucks to stay at a resort on the Monorail Line!

Welcome to Teal! You are welcome back at any time.  And I agree with both of these.  I have yet to see Avatar so I will be with that crowd that just does not get it.  And for the monorail – we should start a campaign.  We went to Mickey's Chrsitmas Party and they only had the resort monorail running after 8 pm.  Painful was an understatement!

I agree with you totally. As I said I am not at all saying I love it but that it may just surprise all of us. Thanks for your reply! I truly enjoy your site. :0)

I have to say that I am reading a very lengthy bio on Walt Disney and after reading most of it I can see connections as to why the Imagineers chose the things they do. Things like Avatar are all things that are somehow tied into a dream that Walt had. We need to remember and keep in mind that Imagineers are always looking out for the best for Disney Parks. While I may not love the Avatar theme, I think we need to wait and give the Disney Imagineers a chance to create ideas and blueprints before we decide we don't like it. I know I am of the minority on this issue but sometimes I wonder if Disney fans have a problem with the idea…or if they have a problem with change???? Now I am off of my soapbox. :0)
