One of the things that I was really looking forward to with our Pixie Vacations Agent trip last month was being able to meet many of my fellow agents — and seeing old friends as well — in a relaxed setting. One thing that was organized for us to enjoy was being able to purchase a ticket for the Illuminations Dessert Party that you can book to enjoy the fireworks with family and friends while enjoying great desserts that are specially made just for your group!
Our location was right by the Italy Pavilion, as you can see in this map from the Disney World website:

One of the things that I really wanted to do, since we had a great view to watch the fireworks, was to bring my tripod — which I did for the first time ever to Walt Disney World. I liked the shots I got with the tripod — although, at the time, I thought it wasn’t helping any — but my regular tripod is so bulky that it was quite heavy and bulky to carry around. In the end, I left the tripod in the car. I might next time get a lighter tripod for this purpose, but we’ll see.
All in all, I really enjoyed the experience of the Illuminations Dessert Party. The cost was $41.24 each for the three of us, and it was only an hour, but for the vantage point, I felt like it was worth the cost to try it out once. Plus, being able to relax and meet with our Pixie friends was so much fun, that’s what the trip was all about — enjoying a relaxed Walt Disney World vacation and meeting some of our new friends for the first time. Really, the rest of this post is just some of my favorite shots from Illuminations — I hope you enjoy them all!
Thank you for these pictures. Warms my heart. I wasn’t even aware that there was such a thing as this dessert party until last week!
No problem, Pam! I think the Illuminations Dessert Party is a special group event — the cost I paid included part of the venue fee, so I can imagine that it would get quite pricey. Another option — that I haven’t done — is the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party in the Magic Kingdom. You can get more information here at this link:

Looking at the dates it is offered, it looks like it is a popular event. Thanks!
Mike
We have reservations for it in October and are excited!
