Hello, and welcome back to another edition of Disney in Pictures! This week’s theme is Favorite Disney Snacks because last Friday the Magical Blogorail Red line had their monthly post, and this month’s post was also about our favorite Disney snacks. You can read all of the loops starting at The Magical Blogorail site, or you can read mine right here!
When it comes to pictures of food, I actually don’t have a whole lot of photos, so my entries this week will be kind of few. As a result, I’ll be inserting mine at random points in the post, but first up I want to share with you a photo that my friend Amanda from Mouze Kateerz sent me!
But don’t listen to me, read what Amanda had to say:
I am truly the world’s biggest Disney cupcake fan. There’s not a food I would rather eat, and I have been known to have french fries for dinner just so I wouldn’t be too stuffed to have room for dessert. Photographing Disney sweets has become somewhat of a hobby, because sometimes it’s a real challenge for them to look in a picture just like I picture them in my mind. At $3.99, the Disney cupcake is also one of the biggest bargains on Disney property. They are pretty big. I have eaten an entire cupcake by myself, and soon wished I had shared, I have cut one in four to share with my kids. If you haven’t tried one yet, put it on your to-do list. Yum, yum, gimme some cupcake!

Next up is my friend Teri. She is one of the writers for Mouze Kateerz, and her favorite snack is the Mickey Rice Krispy Treat! Why, do you ask? Well, let me share her words with you:
My favorite Disney Snack is the infamous Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treat!! Why??? Not only is it scrumptious but you can easily take them home with you, as I did, and be able to enjoy them till your next trip back to the “Mouze Houze”!!! So you have a little bit of the magic with you at home to enjoy whenever you feel the need!!!!
Thanks and have a great day!!
Last September and October, my family went down to Walt Disney World for the weekend, where we celebrated the beginning of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and also the 40th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom! When we were there, we tried some incredible dishes, one of which was this dish that we had in Brazil:

Seared Mahi Mahi with steamed Rice, Hearts of Palm, and Coconut-Lime Sauce |
Next up is Dulcie, one of my friends from Chip & Company, and the creator of her blog “Have Mouse Ears and Loves to Travel.” In her email, she told me that this was a hard choice for her. Here’s what she had to say:
Ok..I must admit this was a hard one!!
We LOVE Dole Whips and Dole Whip Floats BUT we have another love for zebra domes!! The zebra domes are a little known hidden gem that can only be found at the Animal Kingdom Lodge at Boma and Mara. If you pick them up at Mara they are 1 snack credit :)
Next up are my friends Brenda and Roger, who have their own blog at Back to Disney, but are also writers for Mouze Kateerz. Roger had this to say about their favorite desserts:
We love to grab an early lunch at the Boulangerie Patisserie in the French Pavilion in Epcot.
Here’s a nice selection: Chocolate cake, strawberry tart, ham & brie croissant, and coconut macaroons. And what’s our favorite?
Hands down, without a doubt, no questions asked, the very best, moistest, tastiest, luscious, delicious, scrumptious, and just plain unbelievably divine chocolate cake ever created on this earth!
And we’ve had lots of chocolate cake!
Next up is my friend Sheila, one of The Disney Moms, and also the creator of the site Cooking Underwriter! Sheila’s focus is on gluten-free food, and she has this gem to share with us. Here’s what she had to say:
I love this because its gluten free and healthy on the inside. Available at Jolly Holiday Bakery in Disneyland.
This soft serve delight is such a refreshing treat and is at the top of my favorite snack list which I wrote about on this week’s Magical Blogorail loop, here.
There’s another reason I enjoy having a Dole Whip at The Aloha Isle in the magic Kingdom. I like to “pay one forward” for Bawb each trip. By that I mean, I buy one for myself and one for a customer waiting in line. It started In May of 2008 when I attended a memorial/meet for the late Bob Varley, a wonderfully funny witty DIS moderator and DISUnplugged Podcaster. At the memorial we were all talking about Bobs love of Dole Whips and how some DISers (I won’t mention who;) weren’t big fans of the tasty treat. Someone suggested buying one for someone else in Bob’s memory as a sort of “pay it forward” gesture. That night I went to the MK and had a Dole Whip in his honor and bought a Dole Whip for someone on line with me. It felt good and I think Bob would’ve enjoyed it. If you should decide to try it, take a picture of your Dole Whip and post it on the DISboards thread, A Dole Whip for Bawb. It’s one way of remembering and paying tribute to a great guy who is sorely missed. Thanks so much for hosting Disney in Pictures!
Thank you everyone for participating this week! Look for another theme on our Facebook page next Wednesday, but between now and then, I thought I would share one last time a photo that you all have seen countless times before — Sophie conquering the Jumbo Turkey Leg! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!
Now that, is a turkey leg. Go Sophie!!
Oh, I love that last picture of Sophie with the turkey leg! Too cute!
Great list! Who doesn't love a big turkey leg :).
Love the list and photos! Great to see the gluten free cookies made your list. I am partial to allergen free stuff, for my son, although we are fortunate gluten is not one of them.
