Welcome back to another edition of Disney In Pictures! In this week’s edition, we are focusing our attention on Adventureland! I had some email issues, so I’m sorry if you submitted some pictures to me that I didn’t receive, if you want me to re-run this theme for next week, just say the word in the comments below and you’ve got it!Our first contributor is Jennifer, who is sharing with us a picture of part of The Magic Carpets of Aladdin! Here is what Jennifer had to say:
Love Aladdin. This was the first ride we went on with our son.Jennifer
Our next contribution comes from My Dreams of Disney reader Michelle, who has a very special story to share with us about Disney’s greatest treasures — it’s Cast Members! Here is what Michelle has to say:
After spending 2 days at Magic Kingdom, we spent our 3rd day there doing all the character meet and greets. We met this wonderful Cast Member while meeting Woody and Jessie. She asked us who we had and hadn’t seen…. the only meet and greet we had not done yet was Aladdin and Jasmine. She was wonderful enough to walk us over to meet them. While posing for pictures, she left and returned with several pins for him to add to his collection or trade. It’s Cast Members like her, that help make the trip extra special!!!Michelle
There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day!
Michelle, thank you for sharing your special story with us! It is Cast Members like the one you wrote about that make our Disney vacations so special; that Disney Magic that they share with you becomes Disney Memories that last a lifetime!
My friend Dulcie is up next. Dulcie is one of the Pixie Vacations travel agents! Here is what she had to say:
Did someone say ADVENTURE ??
Here are a few pictures that I scraped up from past trips to Adventureland….The first 2 are from the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House….I hate that people don’t stop and enjoyit the way it was meant to be enjoyed. They rush through it pushing and crowding you as you are trying to enjoythe view and take a step back in time to see what it might have been like to actually live there in that tree.
I love the view from the top…and looking down below is even cooler! We don’t explore this bit of the park frequentlybut when we do we like to take it all in.
The last is another oldie but goodie … 1977ish and another Polaroid of my family.Yes that is me in the stroller
*Disney rental might I add…* I was 3 years old on this trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. You can’t tell bymy families faces that they were as happy as I was to be there but I’m sure it’s because my daddy made them stop andpose for yet another photo! That Mickey was my very first that I got on my first trip in 1976 when I was 2 years old.I have thematching Minnie and Mickey still to this day.Dulcie at http://havemouseearsandlovestotravel.blogspot.com/
Have a great weekend and I’m glad to be back…I’ll be heading down to MNSSHP the last weekend of this month hoping to make more memories and take more pics!!
My buddy Denny from Mouze Kateerz is up next! Denny loves sharing his photos from Disney World, and he knows how to tell a great tale also! Here is what he had to say:
Oh, wow! Adventureland! My favorite place to people watch is the round stone bench around the palm trees by the Adventureland bridge! My first picture is the man who IS Adventureland: Captain Jack Sparrow! His show is not to be missed, especially if you have any little boys in your party! Yes…the Adventureland bridge. The music alone is worth walking this way. Now that it is a flat bridge, we know for sure that the Swan boats won’t be back! LOL The photo of the lions is the scene on the Jungle Cruise that has been featured in two commercials for Walt Disney World. I smile about the talking animals in the commercial every time I ride this ride! Next, the majestic elephant on the Jungle Boat Cruise. His is just magnificent! Last, but not least, my only celebrity sighting at the Magic Kingdom: MC Hammer leaving the Sunshine Tree Terrace. Aren’t you glad those diagonal stripes went out of style as fast as they came in! Thanks for choosing Adventureland, Mike!
Grins!
Denny
Thank you to everyone that was able to get their photos in to us this week! For anyone that had problems, sorry about that! If you all want me to re-run this theme for next week, just let me know in the comments, or on the Facebook Page, or shoot me an email to mickey@mydreamsofdisney.com! For now, though, take a look at some of the photos I’ve accumulated of Adventureland!
Such great shots of Adventureland! I can relate to Jennifer and the first photo – the Magic Carpets were the first attraction we took Joey on when he was 14 months and on his first trip to WDW.
