Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Under the Sea

Under The Sea

As we continue our Magic Kingdom Attraction Series, we turn our attention to the Fantasyland attraction Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid.  This is another attraction that was developed as part of the Fantasyland Expansion.  The attraction is identical to the attraction of the same name over at Disney’s California Adventure, except for the huge difference in the queue, and that gives the Magic Kingdom version the nod over the California Adventure version in my opinion.  Here are the details for this fun attraction:

Attraction Name: Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid
Attraction TypeSlow Ride
Height Requirements: Any Height
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of Operation: All Day
FastPass+: Available
Interactive Queue: No

For those that like the Finding Nemo pavilion over at Epcot, you’ll see a big similarity between the two types of ride vehicles for the attraction, as you will board a Clamshell for your journey into the world of Ariel, Prince Eric, and all the rest of the classic Disney movie.  After the attraction, you’ll be able to stop by and visit with Ariel herself for pictures and autographs!

This is a fun attraction, and I think your whole family will enjoy it, but especially any Princesses in your family that love Ariel!

Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

As we continue our Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide series, today we are taking a look at one of the last, if not the last, part of the Fantasyland Expansion to open.  Today we are sharing the details on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with you!

Attraction Name: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Attraction Type: Thrill Ride, Small Drops
Height Requirements: 38″ or Taller
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of Operation: All Day
FastPass+: Available
Interactive Queue: No

Without a doubt, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is the best part of the Fantasyland Expansion for me.  This coaster is a great attraction, and the Imagineers have gone all out in their attention to detail and theming to be found throughout the attraction.  With FastPass+ service available, this is one of those “must do” attractions that, if you don’t ride, you will probably regret having not done so.

Have you been able to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction yet?  If so, what did you think of it?  Among my favorite parts is singing along with the Dwarfs as they go off to work, and also making the car swing as much as possible through the curves!  Thanks for stopping by, tell me what you think of the attraction in the comments, and have a great day!

Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Enchanted Tales with Belle

Next up in our Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide series is the Fantasyland attraction Enchanted Tales with Belle.  Here are the details of this attraction:

Attraction Name: Enchanted Tales with Belle
Attraction Type: Interactive Story
Height Requirements: Any Height
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of OperationAll Day.
FastPass+: Available

With Enchanted Tales with Belle, you and your children can be transported to the Beast’s library from Beauty and the Beast, and listen to a special story told to you by Belle herself.  Better yet, your child may even be invited to help out with the story!  While my daughter is now to old to be interested in this, I know many Princesses that are mesmerized by Belle, and if your Princess is one of them, they will likely love this attraction.  To make it even easier to experience this, FastPass+ service is available.  Have you and your children experienced Enchanted Tales with Belle?  What did you think of it?  Please let us know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by!

Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Dumbo

Dumbo the Flying Elephant is next up in our Magic Kingdom Attraction Guides series.  This opening day attraction has gone through some transformations lately.  The most important aspect is that it moved from near Prince Charming Regal Carrousel over towards the Storybook Circus part of Fantasyland, and in addition, a second Dumbo attraction was added, creating what is commonly known as the “Dueling Dumbos”.  Here are the specifics of this attraction:

Attraction Name: Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Attraction Type: Slow Ride/Spinning
Height Requirements: Any Height
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of OperationAll Day.
FastPass+: Available

In addition to the actual ride, one of the great improvements they made was to add the big top area of the attraction.  This is a great place to take a load off, let the kids work off some energy, sit in nice air conditioning, and wait leisurely for your time to ride.  This is one of those cases where you need to decide which is better — to make a FastPass+ selection and bypass the big top, or to get a stand by pager (which notifies you when it is your time to ride) and go into the big top to relax.  Which do you think is the better way to go?  Let me know in the comments.  In the meantime, here is a picture from my friend Denny for you to enjoy!

Magic Kingdom Attraction Guide – Casey Jr.

On a hot summer day, Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station is a great way to cool off!  Here are the details on this attraction:

Attraction Name: Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station
Attraction Type: Water Rides
Height Requirements: Any Height
Location: Fantasyland
Hours of OperationAll Day.
FastPass+: Not Available

This attraction, while it says “Water Rides” on the Disney website, is more of a walk-through attraction.  Accessible from many vantage points, it’s a great way to keep walking towards your next destination while still getting some good, cool water on your skin and clothes to cool you down.  Of course, Casey Jr. is the train from the movie Dumbo, so it makes perfect sense that the Walt Disney Imagineers envisioned this in the area right near Dumbo.  While anyone can enjoy the cooling water, more often than not you are going to see younger kids there with their parents nearby — but safely away from the water jets.  In addition to Casey Jr., you’ve also got the clown car, the elephant car, and the giraffe car, all designed to give you a cooling mist, soaking water spray, and everything in between.

If you have young ones, I imagine that Casey Jr. is right up your alley!  Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and thanks!
