What I’m looking forward to most at Disneyland

World of Color and Mickey’s Fun Wheel

Hi everybody! It’s me, Sophie! I’m sorry I haven’t been here in a while, I lost track. Anyway, I’ve got some great news!:D  On June 20th my family and I will be going to Disneyland for the 1st time in our lives!!!!! So, I’ve written  a blog post about what I’m looking forward to the most at Disneyland.

Well, here it goes. What I’m looking forward to the most at Disneyland is the fun of being there for the first time in my life. There are some things at Disneyland that are original,  that only Disneyland has like “Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin” and Mickey and Minnie’s actual home town, not just their vacation homes. Besides there is a bunch more like “Cars Land” and “Critter Country” and stuff like that. Then there is “Buena Vista Street”. The statue of Walt Disney and that famous mouse has Mr. Disney’s story about how he found himself destined to make Disneyland and WDW. It’s so interesting to me.

Then there’s “Paradise Pier” which, in my opinion, should be called “the land of non-stop summer”… or at the very least nicknamed. Of course there is Sleeping Beauty Castle. It is one of my top missions to watch the fireworks go off from  behind the castle in the best place possible! Then there is the World of Color, the most beautiful scene in California (click the link to see the premier party video for World of Color). I think it would be cool to see it from Mickey’s Fun Wheel too. It would look so pretty from above. It looks beautiful in the picture above and that’s from a side view!  Well I hope you liked it.

Oh!  I almost forgot, think about what YOU would look forward to the most if you were to go to Disneyland.  When you have an answer, leave me a comment at the bottom of this post, and I’ll write about the best ones! :D

Wordless Wednesday – Disney Dads

IMG_6897

Hi everybody, welcome back!  Today I’m doing the Wordless Wednesday post!

Well, as you know, Father’s Day is coming up so I’m doing a post on my Dad! But don’t email him. I want it to be a surprise for when he next sees the blog! I hope he likes it. He was very generous to let me be his ace reporter. He spoils me! You can’t beat that! Anyway that picture up there at the beginning of the post is my daddy. The picture  was taken on the ferry from the Transportation and Ticketing Center to the Magic Kingdom on the 40th Anniversary of Walt Disney.

What did I tell ya? Absolutely, positively, no doubt about it, he spoils me rotten — most of the time! Now I know what you’re thinking — how could giving your daughter two things be considered spoiling her rotten? Allow me to tell you the number of things my parents have given me so far. Yes, I have counted. 576,319,426,821,348,756,893,527,349  99/100 [the 99/100 being the Disneyland trip we are about to take.]:D So yes,  he does spoil me rotten.

Thanks for joining me on the Wordless Wednesday blog hop today!  To see the rest of the entries, click on the button below, and thanks!

Sophie’s Favorite Epcot Attractions!

Soarin'

Last week, in part one, Sophie went a little overboard with her favorite Disney attractions! She got to number nine and realized that every single one of them was about the Magic Kingdom! As a result, we have decided to break the attractions post up into multiple posts, so for today, we’ve got Sophie’s Favorite Epcot Attractions to share with you! Like last week, at the end of this post you’ll find a link with the actual audio that you can listen to, so sit back, read, listen, and enjoy! Thanks everyone!

This week, Sophie is joined by her BFF Riley, and she has agreed to join in on our conversation! So Sophie and Riley, what are your top ten attractions at Epcot, and why?

  1. The consensus number one attraction at Epcot by both girls was Soarin’.  This simulation ride over the wonders of California is a favorite by many, including Sophie and Riley!
  2.  Next up was Sophie, and she chose the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros!  Sophie loves looking at all of the places the boat ride takes you!
  3. Riley chose Test Track for her next choice!  She actually got to see Test Track when she and her friends were down for a Cheerleading competition!
  4. Spaceship Earth was next on the list.  Sophie loves seeing how far we’ve come from the days of hunting Woolly Mammoths!
  5. Maelstrom in Norway is next on the list.  Riley has never ridden this ride, but she wants to because she loves drops and she learned that there is a small drop here.  One day we’ll all ride it together!
  6. The France Pavilion — with the movie there — was number six on the list.  The girls also like all the characters you can see in France.
  7. China, with it’s CircleVision 360 theater and movie, is next on the list.  You can also get a good photo here as well!
  8. Canada with it’s movie is also on the list at number eight.  These movies are great because they give us a vision of the country we are in that we wouldn’t normally have!
  9. The Seas with Nemo and Friends is next.  The clamshell ride is fun for the girls!
  10. Living with the Land is our tenth choice — I think the girls like seeing how all the food is grown, and the different scenes is neat also.

Sophie’s Favorite Disney Attractions!

Splash Mountain

Hello everyone, this is Mike from My Dreams of Disney, and starting today, I’ve got a unique treat for you!  I’ll be interviewing my daughter Sophie to find out her favorites on a wide variety of Disney topics!  This week, to kick us off, we are going to find out Sophie’s Favorite Disney Attractions!  The lineup so far is like this:

  • Today, Sophie’s Favorite Disney Attractions!
  • Next week, Sophie’s Favorite Disney Characters!
  • The following week, Sophie’s Favorite Disney Reservation Dinners!
  • Lastly, Sophie’s Favorite Disney Memories!

So, without further ado, here is Sophie’s top 10 list of her favorite Disney attractions!

  1. Splash Mountain
    1. Sophie likes this most of all because it’s like going through the whole story of Song of the South, which is what the ride is based off of.
  2. Mickey’s PhilharMagic
    1. Like her old man, Sophie loves the scenes of Donald passing through the different classic Disney movies.  She especially likes Luminare singing “Be our Guest” because she loves the smell of the food!
  3. Haunted Mansion
    1. This attraction up on the list is great because it’s so much fun!  In the audio recording there is a story Sophie told about how her and her cousin’s heads were switched around by the Hitchhiking Ghosts!
  4. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin!
    1. Help defeat the evil Zurg!
  5. Tomorrowland Transit Authority (TTA) PeopleMover!
    1. I like it because it gives you a full tour of Tomorrowland, even though it goes through Space Mountain, an attraction I don’t like!
  6. Jungle Cruise
    1. I like it because it really feels like you’re seeing the jungles of Africa, and the world famous “backside of water!”
  7. Enchanted Tiki Room
    1. Sophie loves the singing birds!  Also, she loves it as the old style better then when it was Under New Management!
  8. Dumbo the Flying Elephant!
    1. I like it because you get to see Timothy up in the center and you get to control how it’s flying!
  9. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh!
    1. It’s cute seeing Pooh, and you can actually smell the honey when he’s collecting it!  I also like the Hephalump room, although one time she got a bloody nose in this room.
  10. The Hall of Presidents
    1. Sophie likes this, but there is one President she doesn’t like — but she’ll keep that to herself.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad — perhaps it’s been elevated to number 10 now? :)
  • Carousel of Progress — number 12 on the list!
  • Peter Pan’s Flight — I like it, but the line is so long sometimes! {Editor’s Note: Eta Pravda translates from Russian to “This is True.”}
  • It’s a Small World — number 13 on the list!  Love the singing characters!

If you would like to hear the actual, unedited audio file of our interview, click on the play button below!  Thanks — you’ll find out about a sub-series of this attraction post that we’ll be covering later!  Thanks for stopping by, and make it a Disney Day!

Sophie’s Splash Mountain Review!

The Big Drop at Splash Mountain!

Hi. it’s me: Sophie. You probably don’t remember me because I have not written on My Dreams of Disney in a long time. Today I’m going to do a review of Splash Mountain, which I have ridden at the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World!

A few months ago back in October, my family and I went to Walt Disney World for the 40th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom. There, my Dad convinced me to try Splash Mountain. I wasn’t so sure about it at first because of the fifty-two foot drop at the end. I was scared that I would go under the water!

Even before the splash I freaked out. But not because of the splashy parts. Because of my dad’s hat! It fell off as we entered a scene where there were fake angry bees swarming around. It fell next to me and touched my hip. I thought it was an over-sized queen bee with an over-sized stinger. I was like “Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! It’s gonna sting me! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! My mom was with me and I was squeezing her arm so hard I nearly broke it!

Then I prepared to go under as we went to the top on the mountain then…”Ahhhhhhhhhhhh-splash! I realized I wasn’t even wet! Then I opened my eyes and my mom was drenched but we DIDN’T go under. I actually liked it. I liked it so much, that I convinced my dad  to ride it TWICE with me next time we got the chance which is gonna happen next month!  One thing I’m NOT gonna tell you is the story the RIDE tells (I already told you my tale.) You have to find THAT out on your own.  So you’re gonna want to ride it.  TTFN, Ta-Ta For Now!
