30 Things To Do At Disney World: Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor

My Dreams of Disney

When it comes to underrated attractions, the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor may be at or near the top of the list.  This simple show, which features many of the monsters from the movie Monsters, Inc. has evolved into one of our favorite things to do in the Magic Kingdom!

I imagine all of you know the story of Monsters, Inc., so I’m not going to go into the details of the movie here.  Suffice it to say, though, that the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor picks up where the movie left off, and the monsters are now doing stand up comedy acts to get the laughs the need for Monstropolis!  That is where you come in.

We have been fortunate many times over to have played a small roll in some of the “production” of the show.  One of our first experiences was in the “text a joke” segment of the show, where the audience can text in their jokes to a special number, and the monsters pick one to announce in the show.  Sophie had one of her jokes announced once!

There are also several locations throughout the cinema where you can sit and be picked up by camera to be displayed on screen, or interviewed by monsters.  My brother-in-law was selected as the audience member who was buying Churros for everyone!  What makes that even funnier is that he does not part with his money easily, to say the least!

Sophie was even interviewed by one of the monsters last October 1st, when we were there for the 40th Anniversary!  It was so cool to see her on screen.  Unfortunately, it distinctly said no photography or video taking was allowed, and the Cast Member was holding the microphone for her, so I didn’t get a shot of it.

For a lot of laughs, check out the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor!  It is a definite must on our 30 things to do at Disney World list!

About Mike Ellis

Mike has been a Disney fan since his first trip to the Magic Kingdom in 1979 when he was 11 years old. Since that first trip, he has seen parks open, lands close, and attractions come and go, but one thing remains the same, his love for Disney is as strong as ever.

His Disney adventures caused him to start My Dreams of Disney because he wanted to document for his family and friends all of the special Disney Memories he has enjoyed with his family, and since that first post in 2010, Mike's hobby has become his passion!

Now a Travel Consultant with Pixie Vacations for over nine years, Mike has helped many of his readers plan and have incredible Disney vacations of their own. Check us out on Facebook and Twitter.
