Illuminations: Reflection of Earth, is the signature fireworks show for Epcot’s World Showcase. Shown nightly during the summer, this is my favorite fireworks show, but it isn’t because of the fireworks, or the location, or even the lasers that go along with it. Illuminations is my favorite because of the music! I really like the music for Illuminations, and it is the beauty of that music that captures my soul whenever I hear it. Illuminations is a MUST do event at Walt Disney World, and I hope that you all make time to take it all in.
If you are like me or my daughter Sophie, you may not like the loud booms associated with the fireworks. For years that kept us away from the shows, and my wife Cindy watched them by herself. No more — we spent something along the lines of $3 at WalMart, bought us each a pair of reusable ear plugs, and Sophie and I have been fireworks junkies ever since! A handy tip, if you don’t have any, you can get free disposable ear plugs at guest services!
The last thing I want to share with you is an obstructed view of part of Illuminations. It won’t show much in the way of the fireworks because we arrived late, so our wonderful view is of a tree…and the sound of a child saying “Mom, I can’t see.” But despite that, the music at the end of the show is there, loud and clear. If you need a little World Showcase Disney Magic, then play the video. Thank you for stopping by!

Great post Mike! I agree about the music it is really what makes the show and as far as the loud booms my youngest has the same issue as Sophie…we went and bought sound cancelling earmuffs and now he wears them for the shows and rides like Dinosaur. :0)
