Wordless Wednesday – My DisneySide

DisneySide

For us, our Disney Side all starts with Mickey & Minnie Mouse!

Hello everyone, and welcome to our Wordless Wednesday post for this week!  Today we are taking a look at our DisneySide, that side of our personalities that just screams Disney!  I actually wrote about this in a post I wrote for the Magical Blogorail back in January, and in that post, I shared these words that I think truly sum up my #DisneySide the best:

I think you can see that my DisneySide has blossomed into what some would call an obsession!  As for me, though, I think it is just a true love for all that Walt Disney brought to this world that we live in, and the legacy that he left in 1966.  In a nutshell, I guess my DisneySide is my attempt to keep the ideals that Walt Disney lived his life by in my life, and to instill that love of life and the simple things into the life of my family so that they can continue to pass it along.  Thank you for stopping by, and remember to make every day a Disney Day!

Rather than rehash that post, though, I’m going to expand on that closing paragraph, and share in photos what my DisneySide is truly all about.  I hope you enjoy these photos and can feel the Disney Magic that went into these shots as much as I enjoy sharing them with you.  Tell me, what does your DisneySide entail?

Our daughter Sophie is the true embodiment of our Disney Side. Here she is dancing with Donald Duck!

Our DisneySide was in full force on June 19, 2008, the day that Sophie and her BFF got to spend the day together at the Magic Kingdom!

Lastly, Sophie’s DisneySide was in full force when she spoke with Princess Jasmine. Here she is telling her a secret about a certain costume she wanted to buy!

96 Days: Jungle Cruise

Jungle Cruise

The Jungle Cruise – an original Magic Kingdom attraction with a lot of laughs!

It’s Day 96 in our #DisneyWorldCountdown, everyone, and I don’t know about you, but these posts are a lot of fun for me to write up.  I hope they are as much fun for you to read!  Today we are taking a look at an attraction that we often overlooked in the early days of our trips to Walt Disney World, but it’s one now that we ride at least one time per trip.  That attraction, of course, is the Jungle Cruise.

Must Read: The Jungle Cruise – Why it’s unique in my eyes!

The Jungle Cruise is a fun ride, full of corny jokes, lots of laughs, and animals galore!  Did you know that in the original design Walt Disney wanted to have real live animals there, but that they decided not to because it was decided that the real animals wouldn’t do much of anything but lie there?  Of course, for me and my corny sense of humor (just ask my wife and daughter — many times when I tell a joke they claim it to be a groaner) this ride is right up my alley.  For example, who doesn’t like this great line from the ride:

We’ve now turned down the Nile River and if you don’t believe that you must be in denial.

But for me, in addition to the great jokes, I really like the pictures I’m able to get — and I’ve gotten some that I think are actually pretty cool.  Have a look!

Don't mind the apes - they're just monkeying around!

Duck! No, it's an elephant!

Duck! No, it’s an elephant, not a duck!

Ouch, that's gotta hurt!

There's old Trader Sam, head salesman of the area. Business has been shrinking lately, so this week only, Sam's offering a two-for-one special: two of his, for one of yours!

Last but certainly not least, it's the backside of water! Do you see what I see?

The Jungle Cruise is a ride that I truly enjoy — and it has become a go to ride at least once per trip.  What do you think of the Jungle Cruise?  Worth it, or skip it?  Let me know in the comments, and thanks for stopping by!
