Happy Birthday Epcot! Just like the Magic Kingdom, Epcot opened on October 1st!  Of course, there was 11 years between the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, so last year was the 30th Birthday of Epcot, and that makes this year birthday number 31!  Epcot has so many incredible details that it’s really like going to two theme parks rolled into one!  For starters there is Epcot Future World, which features Spaceship Earth, among other great pavilions.  Then there is Epcot World Showcase, which features 11 pavilions dedicated to different countries around the world.  If you haven’t seen my reviews of them, head over to my “Epcot’s World Showcase” page to read about each of them!

For this special birthday post, I thought I would let my pictures do the talking, and share with you some of the incredible things that await you at Epcot!  Sit back, relax, and enjoy your photographic journey through Epcot — the second park at Walt Disney World!

Happy Birthday Magic Kingdom!

Happy Birthday Magic Kingdom! 42 years old today!

Happy Birthday Magic Kingdom! 42 years old today!

It is incredibly hard to believe that 42 years ago today, the Magic Kingdom opened it’s doors for the first time to the general public, on October 1st, 1971. Walt Disney World was officially born.  Just two years ago, I was blessed, along with my wife, daughter and niece, to be there when the 40th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom was celebrated!  That day was as picture perfect as you could have — with brilliantly blue skies, nary a cloud in the sky, wonderful temperatures, and, despite the crowds, it seemed like every attraction we wanted to ride or experience had very little wait times.

Our plan of attack that day was to tackle all of the classic, opening day attractions — and we did just that and then some!

It was a wonderful day, full of wonderful memories that I remember to this day, so let me share those memories with you in the form of pictures — enjoy!

The opening parade was a great way to start the day!

That wraps it up for us today!  I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at the Magic Kingdom on October 1st, 2011 — the 40th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World!  If you are at the parks today, on it’s 42nd birthday, tell me, what is the day like for you?  Let us know in the comments, and thanks!
