Relaxing on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority!

Oh, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover!  This is one of my favorite attractions in all of the Magic Kingdom.  For me, it’s a simple and relaxing way to enjoy the sites of Tomorrowland, and it is especially cool to ride when it is night out.

When it comes to the TTA, as I like to call it, the futuristic mode of transportation only has one flaw — it doesn’t do anything but go in a long loop.  It would be really cool if they would expand the TTA as a way of traveling from one land to another land.  One thing that I really miss and wish they would bring it back — even if it was only for a short period — is the old Skyway.  That was such a cool way of both moving from one land to another and also seeing a side of the Magic Kingdom that you don’t see often.  Expanding the TTA to other lands as a means of travel would be a neat way to bring back some of the aspects of the Skyway, but in a different way.

For now, though, the TTA is exactly the way it always has been, and that isn’t likely to change much.  So, take some time next trip and ride the TTA, and enjoy the relaxing nature of this classic attraction.  “Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow.”

For a quick Disney fix, enjoy this YouTube video of the TTA that was recorded at night — and while Space Mountain was being refurbished a few years ago!  Enjoy!

Enjoying Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress

My Dreams of Disney
The Carousel of Progress, located in Tomorrowland

When it comes to some of the best attractions, you aren’t always going to find the E-Ticket rides, such as roller coasters and other attractions at the top of the list.  Sometimes, it’s the ride that shows us where we came from — and where we are headed — that captures the imagination of generation after generation of Walt Disney enthusiasts.  That is why Carousel of Progress, with it’s revolving theater, and timeless charm, is one of my absolutely favorite attractions in all of Walt Disney World!

Almost all of us know the story behind CoP — that it was developed by Walt Disney himself for the 1964 New York World’s Fair; that this attraction was moved to Walt Disney World, and is the only attraction at Walt Disney World that has a direct physical connection to Walt Disney; and rumor has it that Walt Disney said that this attraction should never close.

Carousel of Progress is the longest running stage show in the history of American theater, and was reportedly Walt Disney’s favorite attraction.  The man has great taste.  I for one love the nostalgia behind the attraction, of looking back in time to see some of the improvements that have been created over the years in technology and just general progress; and I love the song that was written by the Sherman Brothers!

There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day.  There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, and tomorrow’s just a dream away!
Man has a dream, and that’s the start.  He follows his dream with mind and heart.  When it becomes a reality, it’s a dream come true for you and me!
So there’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day.  There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, and tomorrow’s just a dream away!

So, now that the song is stuck in your head, take a look at some of the photos from the attraction, and dream about the day you’ll get to experience this classic trip through the past, as you look at the progress that has been made over the years!  Enjoy!

Izaiah on the Walt Disney World Railroad!

The Roy O. Disney steam engine

When Izaiah first arrived at Walt Disney World, everything he saw — whether it was a monorail, or a bus, or a boat, or even a train — was classified as a train.  Some of his best experiences where when he would see the monorail pass through the Contemporary resort while we were eating at Chef Mickey’s!

By the time Wednesday rolled around, though, Izaiah knew by heart what was a train and what was a bus and what was a boat and what was a monorail, so the excitement he felt when Neal and I told him we were taking him on the train was immense!  We had some time because the girls were busy getting all dolled up at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, so we took him over to Frontierland to board the train.

One of the most relaxing trips you can take is on the railroad, and Izaiah loved every minute of it.  Neal and I liked it as well because we were able to just chill for a while and rest our dogs.

For these three guys, we give the Walt Disney World Railroad three thumbs up!
