{Editor’s Note: Latitude Global Volunteering is a volunteer organization that specializes in sending young adults between the ages of 17-25 to volunteer opportunities around the world.  This is the 40th year of their operation, and they approached me to see if I would be willing to publish a notification about their organization and the approaching anniversary.

While My Dreams of Disney typically focuses on just Disney topics, at the heart of our site is the fact that we are Christians, and a charity organization such as Latitude Global Volunteering is instilling Christian values in some of our young adults.  As a result, I agreed to their request.  What follows is their post.  I hope you enjoy!}

Every parent cares deeply about the development of their children. After leaving school, overseas volunteering can have an immense impact on the development of a young person.

Founded in 1972, Lattitude Global Volunteering were one of the first charities who provided young people with the chance to volunteer in other parts of the world, to help communities outside of their own culture.

In 2012 the organisation sends volunteers to around Central and South America, Asia, Africa and Australasia. This year though, they are focusing on finding more people who want to do volunteer work in South Africa. Voluntary work will consist of either, community work, teaching or working as an activity instructor, taking children out into the wilderness to carry out skills and team building activities.

If you know of a person between the ages of 17 and 25 who could benefit from being taken out of their comfort zone and making a positive impact on the world, point them in the direction of Lattitude.
