The runaway train rounding the curve.  The shot was taken from Tom Sawyer Island.

Yesterday we took a look at Splash Mountain, so today we’re going to look at it’s neighbor, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  This roller coaster is one of my favorites at Disney World.  I love the old west feel to the ride, and all of the special touches that the Imagineers have incorporated into the theming for the attraction, as you can see in this next picture.

What is the most unusual part of the landscape that you notice in this photo?

With Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, experiencing the attraction at night can be a totally different ride.  When you ride it, ride it during the day and at night, and pay particular attention to the saloon in the Ghost town.

The last thing I thought I would share with you is a very amateur video (shot by me) of when we got stuck on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Enjoy!
