Cinderella Castle, August, 2009

As all of you that read my blog will have noticed, there are a lot of changes to My Dreams of Disney.  I thought I would take a few moments and tell you about all of the changes that we’ve made.

For starters, gone is the Spaceship Earth shot.  You know, I thought long and hard about taking that background away, but in the end there were some other things that I wanted to do, and that made it necessary to remove the image.  I’m going to do a special post later on that will show the various backgrounds that I worked on and contemplated during the site re-design.

Another thing that you will notice is that I have added a “Featured Posts” section in the middle of the page.  In this section, I can setup special posts that have particular meaning to me as ones that I want to highlight.  I have wanted to do this for a really long time, so I am glad that I have finally been able to accomplish this.

In another change, you will notice that I have incorporated some sub menus into the site.  For example, gone are my “Pages” pages — gone, but not forgotten!  The pages still exist, and you can create pages even if you don’t have the “Pages” widget added to your site, but now I am showing them in a different way.  I love the drop down menus, and I also like how there can be sub-menus off of the drop down menus.  Look at my Disney Partners for who I have there, and don’t worry, I’m going to be adding more in there later on.

Lastly, I also like how clean the site now looks.  That is what I was really shooting for, to make the site look cleaner and more sleek.  I hope that I have succeeded in your eyes, so please let me know what you think!

As always, I want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to read my little blog.  It is humbling to me that you find what I write interesting enough to read, particularly when you think of all of the different blogs that exist out there.  So thank you to each and every one of you!
