World Showcase: France Pavilion

France Pavilion

In my continuing tour of the countries of Epcot’s World Showcase, today we are taking a look at the France Pavilion.  I’ll admit that France isn’t on our top list of pavilions, mainly because we usually pass through France on our way over to Canada.  However, I have learned of some things in France that I definitely want to check out on our next trip, so let’s explore the pavilion in more depth!  You may remember that our last stop was in the Morocco Pavilion.

When most people think of France, they mainly think of the Eiffel Tower and of great food.  The France Pavilion doesn’t disappoint.  Not only is there a scaled down replica of the Eiffel Tower, but they have wonderful bakeries, and two restaurants that I understand are really good:  Bistro de Paris and Les Chefs de France.  Of the two, Bistro de Paris has the reputation of being more authentic French cuisine, and has a dress code, although it isn’t formal.  Bistro de Paris is more of a romantic type setting to celebrate anniversaries or things like that, whereas Les Chefs de France is more family friendly in it’s decor and seating and food choices.

In addition to the dining, France also has one of the more creative entertainment shows out on the streets of the pavilion, called Serveur Amusant.  I was fortunate enough to get this shot of the performance.

Like all of the pavilions, France has it’s own collection of shops for picking up that one of a kind France inspired souvenir.  But the one thing that France has that I’ve never seen, and want to enjoy this coming trip, is Impressions de France.  I don’t know what I’ve been doing in times gone by, but for whatever reason I’ve just blown by and didn’t even realize that I was missing it until my friend Ken from Chip & Company wrote his post about it called “Best Things I Love About Disney — Impressions de France”.  Thanks Ken for pointing out this one of a kind show for me to enjoy on my next visit!

On my next stop on the countries of the World Showcase, I’m going to take a look at the United Kingdom!

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of Steve and Lisa, the founders of Pixie Vacations.  They are both former Cast Members (Steve worked at the Grand Floridian and Lisa worked at the Magic Kingdom) who decided to take their knowledge of Disney to help people plan their Disney vacations!  If you have any questions about planning a Disney trip, or need a quote to figure out how much to budget for, Steve and Lisa are your friends!  While you are off “Liking” My Dreams of Disney, how about stopping over at their Facebook Page at WDW Vacations!

So how about it?  Want to win some great Disney merchandise?  Then go off and “Like” My Dreams of Disney today!  I’ll keep you updated as the days go by on how the contest is going!
