May 28, 2014: The date that the New Fantasyland expansion was officially completed with the opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coaster. The timing could not be any better for us as we get to Walt Disney World in just ten short days, and on June 17, 2014, Cindy and I will be riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train while the girls and Randy and Sheila are over at one of the water parks!
I don’t know about you, but for me, when I learned that Mickey’s Toontown Fair would be closing as part of the expansion, I’ll admit that I wondered how good the new Fantasyland would really be. Well, after seeing it last July, and experiencing how cool Dumbo now is, and riding Journey of the Little Mermaid — which, while the ride is identical to what you can experience at Disney’s California Adventure, the queue is completely different, and just walking around and seeing all of the neat new areas to explore, I now believe that it was worth the cost of Toontown Fair. Add in the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and I think it is the icing on the cake!
Have you been able to ride the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train yet? If so, what did you think? Love it, worth the wait, too short, incredible, or skip it? Or, if you haven’t ridden it yet, when will you get your chance? Let me know in the comments and thanks for stopping by!
