Today is my Mom’s Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom!  Coming so soon after losing her father, I am sure that this is not the best birthday for my Mom, but it is still her special day, and I am going to treat her the way she deserves to be treated!

In today’s photo, I’m bringing you back to the year 2006.  In that year, Cindy, Sophie and I took my Mom down to Florida, where she stayed the summer with my Grandparents to help them around the house.  While we were there, we decided to take Meemaw with us to Disney World for the day!  Mom hadn’t been to Disney since we went as a family way back in the 70’s!  We had such a great time.  That picture, of course, was taken in Minnie Mouse’s Country Home over at Mickey’s Toontown Fair.  I have not given up hope that one day we will get Meemaw and Grandpa (my Mom and Dad) down to Disney with us for a visit, but until that day, I’ll look back at this picture and remember the great time we had that day! registered & protected

  1. Great picture! I can sympathize with your mom. I lost my Pap several years ago in March (right before our shared birthday) and my best friend last March (right before I turned 40). My birthdays aren't nearly as fun anymore, since I've lost the 2 people I most enjoyed spending them with.

  2. Thanks, Kelly and Heidi! My Dad is definitely NOT a Disney Addict, so I'm not holding my breath on him coming, but maybe my Mom will!
